I don’t know what the reality is in her case but she never disappeared. She was attending public events even as the western media claimed she disappeared. She was a mistress of this govt official for nearly a decade. I’m not going to defend the govt official if he is in the wrong but her situation has been used and misrepresented by the western media just like most of the news about China simply bc China is a geopolitical threat. Don’t act like there aren’t scandals in other countries.

But her case is not proof that there is widespread corruption in the administration of the Chinese govt because the numbers simply show the opposite. They are able to create far more public goods than any other country with far less money so how is that symbolic of a corrupt government?

Again, you are pulling strawmans when obvious miracles in development and infrastructure building has been accomplished in only ten years at a fraction of the cost elsewhere. So if that’s the result of widespread corruption then I’d be afraid to know how other countries operate.
