I am sure every woman has experienced some of these characters if not all.

Worst among them is this Keechar teacher. My supervisor was one such teacher. I changed him during my research because of this very reason.

Being in media you have to see work with and meet many people for professional duty and there are many forms of harassment.

these include Staring, unnecessary tries to get into discussion by men, sometimes such males in our own field try to avail cell numbers of female colleagues and try to call or text.

in such situation we usually try to avoid giving our phone number, or atleast dont pick or respond to text or calls of such fellows who are contacting for NO genuine reason.

the best thing is that we behave as cold as anything and void contact with such fellows

But what if the person is really interested and giving a nod or something .. than can this also be classified as harassment as in majority cases the end motive is to have friendship for some sort of chit chat not actually the harassment being perceived just out of the blue.
Finally i do like to state that even if you talk to your female co employees , at the back of there head , All of em think " Hey..this guy is interested". Turns out if the guy is a team lead those female employees do get along quite well...other than that its probably intentionally turned down and the obvious reason presented is Harassment which BTW is quite cruel. But i do believe that women are harassed at workplace quite often so they prefer to stay a bit too defensive all the time.

there are all kinds of people. i believe if someone is not interested and still some men are trying to get close then that is surely harassment rather worst.

and also yes there are women who will accommodate such moves for career but i feel there is NO dignity in such career then and those who have own abilities they never ever will get along with such men even if its a boss. atleast i would go breaking his skull :P

Calendar depicting ‘s'exual harassers’ launched in Islamabad

Islamabad: A calendar highlighting typical characters- responsible for restricting women’s active contribution in socio-economic activities by intimidating and harassing them- has been launched in Islamabad to create awareness among people.

Alliance Against S'exual Harassment (AASHA) – a group of organizations committed to curb sexual harassment at workplace- has produced the calendar.

The first of the cartoonised characters is ‘Tharki Baba’, which portrays men who like hugging and touching young girls ‘under the garb of being their older uncle.’

The second cartoon ‘Hocha Boss’ points towards women’s harassment at workplace, depicting bosses who persistently extend explicit invitations for sexual relations, and threaten to punish if their offers are rejected.

Another cartoon shows a man who harasses women by staring at them. Such ‘Ghuran Chattus’ can easily be found at public places like markets and bus stops. Not to forget ‘Cher Khan’- who is interested in getting physical- by touching, pushing or brushing against women in crowded places.

Another cartoon is about such teachers that blackmail female students for sexual favours. They also intimidate female teachers at times, and abuse their authority, giving a bad name to the respectable profession.

The calendar also boasts of ‘Khudai Thekedaar’- men who impose their own version of morality on everyone else, demanding that women cover their heads or lower their gaze. These men are the ones who throw acid in women''s faces to punish them for going outside the homes. They “actively support sexual harassment to show that the immoral women bring it on themselves.”

Another cartoon is about “Namurad mobaloil”- the guys who use cell phones as a tool to harass women by sending “anonymous text messages and vulgar poetry in the hope of making a connection.”

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Dr Fouzia Saeed, founding member of AASHA, said: “The current Government has shown commitment and support by passing legislation against sexual harassment making it a crime for the first time in the history of Pakistan.”

“This is a milestone in the social history of Pakistan that will not only legitimise access to the public and work spaces for women but will be a turning point in changing people’s mindset about the relationship of men and women,” she added.

lol. That's too over-the-top.

Beware when you're at a bus stop if there's a woman in your line of view. Turn the other way. And if you're surrounded by women, look up to the skies and pray :D

Having seen that calender, the artwork is good, it is funny, but it's a horrid piece of awareness with all those generalizations
