Calderon Dolphin Slaughter in Denmark

And Vegetarians have no right to shed any tears what so ever since farming destroys ecosystems where both plants and animals are murdered, it creates toxins by pesticides which kill more plants and animals, and it makes some plant species extinct because the land that was their home is now growing daal.

did i open any thread about killing of ecosystem, animals etc ?

Because of Chinese, 100 million of shark( because of shark fin soup) killed every year and cause ecological imbalance in sea, tigers( because of myth in chinese traditional medical treatment) are close to extinct because of them and japanese are cause of almost extinction of whales but no one complaining. why?

The Japanese dolphin slaughter makes the Danish one look amateur. And their whale fleets that hide under the pathetic lie of "research" are terrible. Cetaceans are a wonderful part of this Earth and should not be harmed. We can breed more cows and chickens and goats. Whales, dolphins, are another matter.

And yes, the fetishes for "tiger medicine" and Rhino horn and the demand for elephant ivory is just monumentally stupid. If there was no market for these things, the animals would have less of a problem.

I believe one must draw a line somewhere in terms of the intelligence/sentience of the animal... the higher degree of intelligence, the more repugnant it becomes.
Very few people have the slightest problem stomping on a cockroach or slapping a mosquito. Killing a dolphin, or a chimpanzee, or a gorilla, is quite different.
Dolphins have been known to save people in danger in the ocean. They should be protected from such senseless slaughter.

Great post, Choggy! Echoes exactly what's on my mind about it.
I don't even want to watch the videos. It sounds too horrible to bear the sight.

Wait, isn't this the same country that wants to ban Halal Slaughter?

I guess what else can you expect from Europeans but hypocrisy

. .
How is this different from your slaughtering of cattle during EID?

Cattle can be bred , their population will never decrease. Dolphins will get extinct if such inhumane killing continues. Besides ,cattle are slaughtered for food , not for sport.

First a lot of people do complain about shark fin, tiger bones or whale meat. A lot more than those complaining about Danish slaughters. You hear about tiger bone, whale meat or shark fin in the news, if not daily at least once ever so often, but most people only know this practice in Denmark through a series of emails spams.

I'm not sure about Japanese whaling causing almost extinction of whales. Europeans need to take their share of the blame, as their large scale whale hunting in 18th and 19th century had a major impact on the world whale population.

I'm also amused by the fact some people loves to blame China for the drop of wild shark, tiger or rhino population, not because Chinese actually hunted tiger or rhino (sharks is a bit different as both Chinese and non-Chinese hunt sharks), but simply because Chinese buy them. But few seems to be willing to apply the same principle and blame Western consumers for environmental pollution in China in the course of making products for the Western market.

No one denies that Western whaling fleets took most cetaceans to the edge of extinction. The difference is, we (except for Japan and maybe Russia) recognized the danger and ceased the activity decades ago. Whales reproduce very slowly. We must cease ALL whaling to give them a chance to recover.

The difference is, the products China makes for the western market could be produced in an environmentally sound fashion, but sometimes they aren't, because they want maximum profits. But you cannot provide tiger bone and rhino horn without killing the animal. There's no "environmentally sound" way to do it.

Every nation is guilty to some degree. When there is both supply and demand, a market will exist. Eliminate one or the other, and the market collapses. If we can educate people that no one needs ivory or rhino horn, then the demand will dry up.
