BY-ELECTION: PML-N TROUNCES PTI TO RETAIN PP-206 KHANEWAL SEAT

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Rana Muhammad Saleem emerged victorious in the PP-206 Khanewal by-election after securing 47,649 votes, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Noreen Nishat Daha came in second who secured 34,039 votes, unofficial results showed. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate stood third by securing 15,069 votes.

Reacting to the victory, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and Vice President Maryam Nawaz congratulated party workers for the PP-206 Khanewal win.

The polling for by-election started at 8 am and continued till 5 pm without any break.

A total of 183 polling stations and 512 polling booths had been set up for 230,698 registered voters of the constituency.

As many as 13 candidates contested for the provincial assembly seat.

The provincial assembly seat fell vacant upon the death of Nishat Daha in October this year. Daha had defeated Rana Saleem by a margin of 3,546 votes in 2018.

Pml N has massive support in Central Punjab. If free and fair elections the PTI, PPP have no chance. Balochistan was a strong hold of PML N until a new party was created under pressure. This destroyed PMLN.

Definitely. I highly doubt PTI would win Central Punjab. Check TLP vote, if only PTI can make a seat adjustment with them lol

Election commission is responsible for EVMs. Government has nothing to do with it. EC will decide on which EVM to purchase.
Atleast with EVM there will be no ghosts voting for PLMN and PPP.

PTI will win with their Itehadi, PMLQ and MQM. Both parties will support PTI. PPP has made the deal with establishment and they will get some support in Punjab. If they election is done with EVM, PMLN will lose their seats.

PTI needs to target a vote bank in Central punjab that is different from PMLN

I am surprised how PTI managed to become a Federal party despite negligible presence in CP- for future they'll need to work on this front
Especially if they want to become 2/3rd party to carry out proper reforms (honestly speaking I don't think they'll ever become 2/3 rd party)

Punjab is bigger than CP for sitting Govt its always hard to win by elections N league used to win only by Govt machine but there is need of transparency to stop Ghost voting and other methods of rigging EVM is way farward this will kill Atleast 30 -40% seats of N league that's why they are against them

This breadwinner is looting from money it earned on its own by industry that was here since pre partition time, remmitances of it's workers, CP was developed since British times, it's own agricultural produce, it's own water canals, it's own educational institutions predating partition

Indian Punjab played a oversized role in India after partition cause it was also part of CP- overtime it's role diminished and was shifted more towards agriculture (due to war threat)

Now you even have 18th amendment, have little excuses left for your own incompetency

Vote in better people in your provinces so they can make your situation a bit better - for eg Peshawar and KP, it's devalopment over the last couple years, less randi Rona more brains

No one voted for ppp in sindh from karachi yet they rule karachi so vote for xyz doesnt matter.
