Bus manufacturing plant commissioned in Telangana

Ghanta! They'll import its chassis and engine from China and will integrated their customized luxury bus coaches onto the same.

You can't install a full fledged bus manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 3000 buses for just 250 crore rupees.

Truly sad :( hopefully the situation will improve

KCR opens Deccan Auto’s bus making facility - The Hindu

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday pitched for investments from entrepreneurs of Telangana-origin abroad with the new industrial policy of his government. Such persons could contribute immensely to the State’s growth, he said, and commended the commitment of Deccan Auto chairman M.S.R.V. Prasad to his motherland. Mr. Rao was speaking after inaugurating the bus making facility of Deccan Auto and launching three bus models at Kodakanchi village in the neighbouring Medak district. Mr. Prasad, a non-resident Indian, he said, did his engineering from Warangal.

Stating that Telangana is making strides, Mr. Rao highlighted the industrial policy, formally launched last month. The policy is the “world’s best” and appreciated by everyone. The State is on course to becoming number one in the country with regard to industrial development and power cuts are a thing of the past, he added.

Efforts are on to add new capacity, from the existing 4,320 mw to 25,000 mw. Procurement work for the new power plants, entailing an investment of Rs.91,500 crore, had begun, he said. The industrial policy, Mr. Rao said, built on the cornerstone of self-certification, sought to make the process of setting up units hassle-free and has zero tolerance to corruption. The State government had cleared 17 industrial projects in 11 days recently and many more were in the pipeline. Mr. Prasad said Deccan Auto had invested Rs.250 crore on the facility that can make 3,000 units a year. The plant, with a 3 lakh sq ft covered area, will make buses that are 8-18 metres long.
