Bus conductors filmed while slapping and treating special children brutally in Lahore

Pakistan in general is shithole of such people. Uneducated my ***, I've seen people with PhD's doing this to their servants. Insaniyat has been in short supply here since it's inception. If anyone says that it's the education folks, then he/she is straight out lying.

Humanity does not live in Pakistan. People need to understand it and live with it. I try to avoid local neanderthals as much as I can, so that my family doesn't experience this side of the 'hospitality'.

One of the pieces posted by @Syed.Ali.Haider about the maid girls standing watching while the family was eating.

Then @Kaptaan 's from the heart about one of his early day visits to Pakistan.

Now this.

I don't know if its the environment I've been brought up in or the circles I move in, but it does seem that Pakistan has not moved on from the sahib n gulaam culture.

Cheers, Doc
Its still here sadly

No need for the superficial online outrage.

Just your average crowning moment of lawful democracy

That's what I meant with my earlier post, when I said that the malaise runs deeper. People think its OK to hit children for whatever reason.

What is the point of beating a child who failed her exam, or does not know the answer to a question? Would beating her make her better at math or science or language? Or would it simply make her miserable?

I have often seen this back in India, especially in government run schools - punishing children who cannot answer questions. As if that would magically make them better at the subject. All that does is to pain them and humiliate them, and make them feel guilty.

If a student cannot answer a question or solve a problem, TEACH THEM to do it - that's your duty as a teacher. It's a difficult thing to do of course - it's far easier to beat them up.

lol... which gated community do you live in India?.. dont need to answer my rhetorical question. :)

Does it take specialized training to know that abusing children is wrong? Just some "insaniyat" is enough.

The malaise runs deeper, because in some societies (and I don't mean just Pakistan), people think it is OK to beat and physically punish children. (With special needs or otherwise.)

Teachers, caretakers, bus conductors etc should not have any authority to touch the children. Period.

Pot and kettle?

You are right about insaaniat. However, in the real world it is litigation, proper training, and accountability that ensures the law is followed. Turn on the news and you will see how much insaaniat is left in this world.

Sad but true.

Child Abuse is a serious problem in Pakistan which needs to be addressed.
Illiterate people usually confuse it with discipline and some are just sadistic.

LAHORE: The conductors of a bus, caught on video apparently torturing special children who were travelling to their institute in Lahore’s Gulberg on Friday, have told police that they were not mistreating the children but only asking them not to misbehave.

The Gulberg police arrested both the conductors, Usman and Akram Shah. Investigation Officer Taimoor Abbas said arrested suspects usually concocted stories to justify their acts.

Cruel number report: ‘Most child sexual abuse cases from Punjab’

What suspects were doing was quite obvious from the video. One of the suspect said that a child had jumped onto the seat of a senior boy. He admonished him not to do so. “What I did was not torture,” he claimed.

The conductors have been suspended by the school administration after the incident. The issue was highlighted when a video went viral in which two conductors were torturing special children, abusing them and making fun of them.

Just a culture where special needs children are considered subhuman or liabilities.

There are many organizations you can support that take care of children rejected by their families.
