A much simpler solution (for those who cannot do without the burqa) , is that, women who wear burqas or whatever, are able to expose themselves within the confines of their houses. but, this is feasible only if you have a bungalow or so, where there is an open space within the walls.
what about big window with tinted glass..

Actually vitamin pills are not a bad idea.

Even if you are fine on Vitamin D, what about all the others?

Eating enough fish recently? Getting enough fruits that are rich in potassium?

Yeah that is a good option too but some sunshine exposure will always help.

...and being nude eventually leads to skin-cancer.

No one is Burqa-clad for 24 hours a day, except for probably somewhere in Afghanistan and Pak-Afghan border. Women mostly wear Burqa when leaving for market or when going in public. The study isn't a barrier-breaker, even starter in Biology knows that skin required Vit-D which it receives mostly from the sunlight. With Burqa, the light is blocked and Vit-D isn't available.

After going through the frenzied responses of islamists on this thread , it seems they think women have only two choices either to go fully nude or to be covered fully in a ninja suit from tip to toe . These Stupid people will force their women to die of diseases caused by vitamin D deficiency than let them remove the burqa . These medieval practices must go for good . In islam a male can go out displaying his body like a khulla saand but females can't:frown: . Pathetic hypocrites !

The news does not suggest that they wear 24 hours a day.
Also I dont think anybody will dare to be nude in hyderabad, you will die of dehydration before skin cancer.. :)
