What's new

Buddhists in Pakistan??

I wish the Cnsus gave data on where Buddhists live in Pakistan and their languages. That would clear up all the confusion

But I don't know where I can even find the Census data for Pakistan...like an official census report
What do you want to do with them? And how does their religion concern you? Why single them out? Let them be, if they wanted to be known they wouldnt have remained nicely hidden all these years!

Then why did ET publish a report n their stats. If they have let the cat out of the bag they should also fulfil our natural curiousity

Jews claim that The Pashtuns are one of Moses's lost tribe; I saw a documentary about it - it seems very possible.

Neither linguistic nor genetic studies supports Bani Israel origin of Pashtuns. Balochs also claim Semetic roots, that they are Arabs from Syria, descendants of Amir Hamza. Neither Balochs nor Pashtuns are Semites. Moreover there is nothing "Jewish" about Pashtuns, in their traits, ways of life, behavior etc. The hardy Pashtuns , are rather reminiscent of Scythians, Hephthalites, Kushans etc

Their Pakhtunwali law is almost identical to Jewish law - which half the time contradicts, Islamic law.

How so? Jews do not have any "unwritten tribal code of conduct", they have Torah and other documents to follow, like we Muslims have Quran. Pashtun's unwritten customary laws and code of conduct, are not unique and exceptional, similar codes of conduct are followed by many nations around the world (in the past if not in the present). In fact Baloch code of conduct "Mayar" is almost identical to Pashtunwali.

If few buddhists have survived in pakistan than what about jains.Has anyone ever come across or heard anything about jains in pakistan.
