Buddha tooth, missing Relic casket discover in Pakistan (KP)

This is good news. With the rich Buddhist archaeological sites in Takshila and Swat, Pakistan has good prospects of Buddhist tourism. It can organize tours for Buddhist tourists from East Asia. We have something similar in India too with literally thousands of tourists arriving each year.

Yes Inshallah with a dedicated effort we can do alot.

Our problem is tourism here with regards to historical sites has never been given much attention unlike your country so i feel this is one area where we need a lot of work to do

.
ajay we can maintain it by ourselves too but only if we get the sense of commitment into the heads of corrupt officials.

but khair i am very much optimistic we can do alot :)

I do not doubt you can but it does not help getting donations from outside with so many buddhist nations they will be more than happy to help.

I dont know why Lahore museum gives its items away i guess there is not much demand in Pakistan to view them from tourists.

Im having doubt myself now this news is true until it is confirmed because such a big story will be all over the net but im not finding it.

been posted on slaeem shahazad website. he is one of the known journalist and praised by international media/countries.

. .
Not a single pakistani thanked above news only Indians have thanked for something good in pakistan.

First the authenticity of the claims have to be established.

Also the promotion of tourism is a very long shot seeing current situations.

Who said no Pakistani has thanked this news, if verifiable i think this is great news, shows the rich history this land has.

Wow, that's a "starving Buddha" rather than a fat Buddha. I know little of Buddhism, but knowing he was more into the spiritual rather than earthly pleasures like food, I'd suspect he was a pretty skinny guy.

I wonder why modern Buddha images are plump?

Buddha was a yogi. used to practice yoga. so cant be skinny or plumpy.
he must be physically very fit.
u need to have a fit body in order to have a fit mind.

Lahore museum did not give anything away. Upon a request by the Lankan president the Fasting Buddha statue was borrowed to Sri Lanka for a few days to mark the year of Buddha. It belongs to the museum of Lahore and was returned safely.

And your "guess" is miles off.

Nicely spotted. He's not only less plump, but also less effeminate, particularly in the face. He's sporting a full beard and no mustache...
the significance of which should strike home with the present dwellers of his ancestral land.

not only for buddhists but it can a tourist place for hindus too....
after all in Hinduism Buddha was regarded as 7th incarnation of Lord(god) Vishnu(out of 10 known)

Simple....Japanes Yen has financed all the statutes even in India ....therefore you will find Buddha looking more Japanese than Indian.

well seriously I have a great respect for Buddha for being so peaceful personality. One of the best person ever descended to this world

Its so good to hear this wonderful news... I hope our government do respect his teeth and preserve it somewhere very safe or display in museum or temple, that will also promote tourism or at least peoples will get to know this great personality
