I’v recently bought a house in Multan near Model Town and have been scoping out the city for the last two months.
I’m saddened at the fact that mango orchards have been erased from Bosan Road, and the Northern bypass road area. Those who sold their farms received good money for them - thats for sure.
The city is growing rapidly as more and more people are coming from outside for business and gain better education.
However I agree with PMIK that arable land is in danger if these societies’/housing development are not better regulated.
I am in favour of smaller societies because they can be managed and filled quickly - case in point - Sehar Villas/ Wapda Town/Fort Avenue/Model Town/MDA officers & co-op.
However I am not in favour of monsters such as DHA/Royal Orchards because they take decades to fill up and waste too much arable land. A balance needs to be maintained by the city council. They should only approve these societies if they feel population has gone past a threshold. I say this because there are so many houses empty and for sale in Multan and many of these large societies are being used by investors to make a quick buck and our arable land is at stake due to this.
Nice to meet someone from my new adopted city
I know mango farmers on Head Muhammad road and they earn handsome returns on their annual crop.
But I can understand why Mr Bucha went into housing development. A 5 marla house in a good society in Multan is min 50lac. In one acre there are 160 marla, so do the maths ppl.
@Sugarcane and fellow Multanis
Can we compile a list of popular food places in multan for our fellow pdf members (and for me when I feel peckish). I would say:
- Le Cafe Bakery
- Shangrilla Bakery
- Rewari Sweets
- Milkshakes on 4th floor of United Mall
What else?
