Buch International Making an Impact in Multan

. . . . . .
Bhai, Multan is fertile AF. Its lush green... yes in summers 40c is average temp..

There is no desert in or near multan... closest desert is cholistan which technically starts from Bahawalpur.

You are confusing multan with perhaps some other city?
Janaab e ala my paternal side is from there....we even refuse to go there in summers....heck I was unfortunately there in summer and believe you me ot was 50 degrees outside though for few 3-4 hrs but it hit 50...It was bloody 40 in the house with fan on no life without ac esp during loadshedding it is like an oven!!

As for being as dusty as the desert no I didn't exaggerate....

I lived there for around 5 years man.

First on Tipu road (near LOG Areas) and than opposite Golf club in Fort Colony.

My father served as both CO & Brigade Comd in Multan.

It's on Bosan road, few kilometers from BZU. Yes it's short of Bucha.
Band bosan, meh a friend lives there.. infact a gf lived there aswell..

Honestly speaking I dont know these areas...I havent been around Multan much I prefer my Maternal side in Pinid  Yea well Cantt side is prob better than the rest of Multan...We have crazy power cuts at grandma's side (like loadshedding every 1 hr for 1 hr...sometimes for 2 hrs) and gas wasnt that merciful either while our side has 2-4 hrs for whole day loadshedding even in winter! It is just slightly better than previous tenure where we had loadshedding similar (slightly better than every hr for 1 hr) to my grandma's area while they had it tougher!

infact a gf lived there aswell..
putter thori tou sharam kerlo :D

Dust storm are because of western weather system, and Multan is anything but desert. But, You have to get out of city to see crops and orchards.
Yea I have seen the orchards but the dust storm really is nasty! When I first came my eyes were swollen and I barely could see clearly...I had a weird reaction to Multani weather even now its like my skin is peeling off like a snake!

Also why I keep moving between Maternal and Paternal side :(
Well also coz ISB is the capital and we always kinda need visa for this and that....

I’v recently bought a house in Multan near Model Town and have been scoping out the city for the last two months.

I’m saddened at the fact that mango orchards have been erased from Bosan Road, and the Northern bypass road area. Those who sold their farms received good money for them - thats for sure.

The city is growing rapidly as more and more people are coming from outside for business and gain better education.
However I agree with PMIK that arable land is in danger if these societies’/housing development are not better regulated.

I am in favour of smaller societies because they can be managed and filled quickly - case in point - Sehar Villas/ Wapda Town/Fort Avenue/Model Town/MDA officers & co-op.

However I am not in favour of monsters such as DHA/Royal Orchards because they take decades to fill up and waste too much arable land. A balance needs to be maintained by the city council. They should only approve these societies if they feel population has gone past a threshold. I say this because there are so many houses empty and for sale in Multan and many of these large societies are being used by investors to make a quick buck and our arable land is at stake due to this.

Nice to meet someone from my new adopted city :)

BUCH is the family name of the owner. The housing scheme is built upon mango orchids thats what the gentleman told me, these were his ancestral lands. He used to be a pilot in PIA, after retirement the best utilization of his time was to convert those "useless" orchids into a residential/commercial business hub.

I know mango farmers on Head Muhammad road and they earn handsome returns on their annual crop.

But I can understand why Mr Bucha went into housing development. A 5 marla house in a good society in Multan is min 50lac. In one acre there are 160 marla, so do the maths ppl.

Damn, that is scandalous, I have never visited Multan but know it for two reasons, the best Mangoes and Hafiz Sohan Halwa. :(

@Sugarcane and fellow Multanis

Can we compile a list of popular food places in multan for our fellow pdf members (and for me when I feel peckish). I would say:

- Le Cafe Bakery
- Shangrilla Bakery
- Rewari Sweets
- Milkshakes on 4th floor of United Mall

What else?

Shahjahan, Salt and pepper, Bundu Khan etc. are in city, but I prefer to go to less crowded places of city for traditional foods I.e. Tasty Garden, Billay da Daira, Al-Maida. But most of days during my visit I end up at fast foods because of kids.

Try cream chart from Vehari road (near cricket stadium) if you haven't already.

Multan is my home town, Mango trees are being cut to build Buch Villas, DHA and some other housing societies.
I grew up there till I went to engineering school... it’s been 20 years since I visited Multan. Buch construction is done by my classmate in college Yasir butcha..
