its not very clear and simple as it sounds. locals cross border from either side by mistake while chasing their kids or cattle or getting lost due to sudden weather issues. rain, fog and sudden surge in the small streams can force you to detour for miles. not every crossing is sinister and mostly it is resolved peacefully.

but warmongering is easy and lazy option.

Absolutely. I dont think anyone is saying anyone crossing should be shot. The support is categorically for using force against armed smugglers.

If you visit the recent thread about strayed civilian returned safely you will see people generally expressed relief for an innocent saved from the mistrust that unfortunately prevails.

It is mentioned in the OP that they were carrying 12Kg Drugs... it is not that difficult right???.... I think the picture shown are different incidents in different place.......

I think the poster mixed in lot of images from different incidence. One of them being from 3 march.

by the way, people on either side are killed from cross border fire even without crossing. in Pakistani Kashmir, people in the bus have died due to firing from Indian posts. since most of you are ignorant the area has rivers and roads with posts on either side only few hundred meters.

The best solution is Pakistan too seal the border or atleat mark it to clarity of random citizens. Thus we can be assured that the victims had it coming.

Only the third picture is from the present bust, all the other pics are from earlier busts where larger groups were involved.

for record I have no sympathy for smugglers or terrorists. whatever the faith, nationality or sexual orientation


lets pray together that we never see the day that our animosity reaches the level of Arabs and Iranians, their posts make my skin crawl. I silently thank that we are not out to annihilate each other completely . yes we have online and offline trolls who talk some silly things but its not a majority view but middle east is a mess unfortunately. very depressing.

AMRITSAR: Border Security Force shot dead two Pakistani smugglers and recovered 12 kilogram of heroin and 1 AK 47 rifle on Sunday morning operation at the India-Pakistan international border in Punjab, a day after 24-kg of the contraband was seized following a similar operation near the border.

Confirming the killing of two intruders at border outpost Rattan Khurd, Border Security Force (BSF) DIG RPS Jaswal said that an AK-47 assault rifle, too, was recovered from the intruders along with 12-kg of heroin.

Jaswal said that the duo were challenged by BSF personnel and were repeatedly asked to surrender, but they ignored the warnings and kept marching towards Indian territory while firing at the troops. That invited retaliation from the jawans and, during the exchange, the intruders were shot dead, he said.

This is for the first time at the international border in Punjab that the Pakistani smugglers have used AK-47 rifle to combat BSF troops for a smuggling operation. Usually they use small weapons for cross border smuggling of narcotics, RPS Jaswal said while talking to TOI on Sunday morning.
Thereafter, after undertaking a comprehensive search at the spot, BSF recovered the drugs and the weapon from near the bodies of the two intruders, who are yet to be identified.

BSF said it may investigate who the Indian contacts were for whom the intruders had brought the drug consignment and the rifle.

A Pakistani smuggler carrying 24-kg heroin was shot dead on Saturday by BSF troops near Ajnala village on the India - Pakistan border in Amritsar.

The intruder had tried to enter Indian territory near a border outpost at Majhmian, Jaswal had said, adding that 24-kg heroin with a street value of Rs 120 crore was recovered from near his body.

In recent past, Pakistani smugglers have increased smuggling attempts through the Punjab border.

your border is fenced few hundred yards within your territory... after speaking rangers... they told me that only few painted rocks mark the actual territory.... so even if some crosses those rocks the indian army forces them put hands up... and if they try to return to pakistan then they get shot.
