Comilla, Aug 13 (UNB) Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized the firearm of an Indian Border Security Force (BSF) man after he intruded into Bangladesh territory along Jashpur border in Sadar upazila early Tuesday.
Lt Col Mahmud Al Mamun, commanding officer of BGB Battalion-10, said a member of BSF illegally entered 200 yards into Bangladesh and tried to pick up a Bangladeshi woman who was working in her own field near Jashpur BGB camp in the early hours. Sensing the incident, BGB member Jalal appeared on the scene. Sensing danger, the member of the Indian border force tried to shoot him. However, Jalal managed to snatch his firearm, SLR, although he fled into the Indian territory.
BGB sent a letter to BSF to hold a flag meeting in this regard.
