Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has detained six Bangladeshi nationals from Joypurhat.
They were nabbed in Panchbibi border area early on Tuesday, said Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
BGB confirmed the identity of four detainees as Ziaul Haque, Motiur Rahman, Sayem Uddin and Ashraful Islam.
Jaipurhat-3 BGB Captain Lt Col Sabbir Ali Khasru said they had sent a letter to the BSF Company Commander asking for a flag meeting for releasing the Bangladeshis.
BSF claimed it had detained the six people for beating up a BSF person. It also said those people would be tried under Indian law, Sabbir Ali said.
