British Pm Should Seek Apology For Jallianwala: Tharoor

as long as its academic or for purpose of informing public, its okey... but politics over it and unnecessarily hassling a friendly regime, is not ok.
I am not saying Sashi is hassling british govt but he should tone down a bit, am sure his books will sell on its merit.

He is just promoting his book, if the content make the british uncomfortable, then how is that his problem ?

This is the same british that encouraged "Satanic verses" and even Khalistani movement.

I have zero sympathy for them. IF they are "friendly" its only because they see a value in this "friendship".

They will have zero hesitation in throwing us under the bus (again) if they get to profit from it. And if you have any doubts, just read history. Courtesy, Shashi Tharoor.

Hate to tell you this, but no one is apologising. Sh*t happens.

Love to tell you this, but no one cares about your apology.

What we love is the opportunity to stick it to you and remind you of history that is much worse than Nazi germany.

and so should we..
after brexit.. brits will be in search of partners(other than US) and we can build a partnership in various fields where they excel... why keep blaming them for all our ills... its not as if brits are going around claiming they were awsome during raj... there is already a fatigue among europeans as to how much blame they can take for current asian and african regime and for how long.

If you don’t care about the apology then why make an issue out of it? By no means is the current generation apologetic. We accommodate your people, have them run politics, make do as they please with their wealth, offer them job opportunities- we can only build good relations going further. I don’t understand what more you want us to do?

Exactly. The Brits don’t see it as a proud era. I don’t know what more these guys want from us?

One is business, other is pleasure.

Unlike britain, Europe has taken a collective responsibility of the share of the blame.

UK alone (and perhaps Norway) never took responsibility about their role in global disasters. In fact, they actively worked to dismiss any responsibility by saying "shit happens".

And if you look closely you will realize, NOTHING has Changed.

by 'these guys' ... you should know its only handful of people.. half of indians dont care either way... many indians think british gave us good institutions.. and after IT boom our main trading partner is USA... its the destination of aspiring indians... british has left Indian consciousness for quite some time...

I’d respond but your banned. Boy bye.

Sh*t happens. That kind of attitude is the easiest way to ensure that we don't learn anything from our pasts.
Take the Rohingya genocide currently happening. Or the plight of people in Syria. Are we all supposed to ignore them cause in 200 years someone can say sh*t happens?

Difference is we don’t except the oncoming future generations to apologise as long as they’ve fixed ways, come up with a corrective strategy and don’t continue with flawed methods. Has Britain continued to do that? No. Therefore are we expected to apologise? No.

I don't care about any apology. All I'm saying is that we must not remove our sense of accountability for our actions in the present under the notion that future generations will fix it.
People suffer in the present. Whether future generations will fix their ways or not is frankly irrelevant.

Well if you care for an apology go to the graves of those who did you wrong. Not us.

Shashi Tharoor and his pathetic dramas. He demands an apology from the British for ruling India but he won't even let go of his clipped British accent. Typical Indian behavior.

India sud apology for babri masjid kashmir and Gujrat killing of muslim.
looks like you are an ahmadiya/shia/baloochi
pakistan govt. owes an apology to shia and ahmadiya for treating them as 2nd class

If its for asking forgiveness then more or less its depends on which type of crime have been committed.

Dua Dil say aati hain, zabardasti ki dua shafa nahi deti.
