It would be useful of the CBP official can come out with one reason out of 60 why the Muslim family was barred. To me the official is just treading water.

The CBP does not have to declare the reason. The DHS has a dedicated TRIP process for the family to ask the reasons and to remove them if applicable. What the official said is correct.
