British raj never did anyone good. There would have been more countries in south asia but railways or what ever would eventually have made their way like any other technology. If anything colonisation prevented century of modern development at least. Japan is good example, not saying everyone would have become like Japan but gap would have been less.

Hell without Tipu rockets they would have been decades behind. The only difference is they were much better at administration. Once they found about Tipu rockets they formed separate research division just to make much more advance version of them.

There are successful countries that do it in their own language. What is south Asian going do with English language in his own country, you are not European or part of European union to benefit from it properly. I know many people in pakistan that speak good English but what can you do with it ? it divides the population from the those that cannot speak it from those who speak it. It is bad to make a foreign language official when you have your own, at least the elders will understand the education system rather look clueless because a foreign language is taught. It should be taught as a second language.

What about writing codes that power the softwares across the globe
What about closing multi million dollar investment banking deals
What about designing machines and gadgets
What about being top doctors in hospitals worldwide

So is every advanced country without English. Japan, China, Korea ,Germany or France didn't need tEnglish.
