Britain declares full military support to Turkey as Russia dispatches warship to the Mediterranean

U.S is/was supporting ISIS and other anti Assad groups all this time. Your not going to send your soldiers to fight for them either? Hypocrisy all over the place.

Most if not all west major powers supported anti Assad groups like ISIS against the "dictator" Assad and now some nobody's here trying to shift all blame to Turkey and distance themselves. GTFO.

Thanks

Have to give it to the Brits. Masterfully played. They'll get Turkey burnt to the ground, and in the end have the last laugh @ the cost of maybe just a dozen aircraft of their own.

ONLY if you actually KNEW how NATO works!!!! The "dozen" EFT's are just a backup, there are 6 F-15E's ALREADY on the ground in Turkey standing by. The number 6 was to match the 4 SU-30's initially reported. There are a few dozen F-18's, Tornados, EFT's and Rafale's that fly over Turkey today.

So the message to the Russians was, that wjatever number of jets you put on the ground to be used in a fight, the NATO will outnumber it (so 4 SU-30's face 6 F-16's, + EFT's and plus others if need be). Russia isn't going to fly a 100 jets overnight to bomb Turkey, that would mean an attack on NATO, which would mean the entire Turkish, British, US, and French navy to get involved.

Remember, from British, American and French bases in this area, the EFT's, the Rafales and the -18's are within 15 minutes flight time to Damascus. So there isn't a "special" announcement needed for "deployment to help Turkey", as there are dozens of advanced assets ALREADY deployed and fly over Turkish airspace regularly. So in any event, all these dozens of top end jets are available to defend NATO (no serious event will take place though).

Nothing major will happen, everyone chill out. Somewhere next year a Turkish jet will get shoot down/ship sunk by the Russians for some excuse and that's that.
Putin will save face (whatever is left of it) and if The Sultan tries to take things further afterwards he will be told to shut up.

@FrenchPilot Nobody wants to fight Russia (including us, although they're not exactly our friends, to put it mildly). However, Turkey, like it or not, is a part of NATO - hence any (serious) attack on them will result in a joint response. That's 100% clear.

Ps: that's not to say that Erdogan gets a carte blanche to stir sh!t up indefinitely in Syria.
