Brig Gen Chuck Yeager passed Away, RIP

RIP to an outstanding professional and a well known respected name in military aviation history.

. . . . . .
Not just his but the desperate IAF also achieved another kill by destroying a UN aircraft by attacking the civilian Islamabad airport.... I bet they even awarded the IAF pilots.

yeah best at awarding, this tells how desperate they are for their pilots to perform, who prefer to stay out of range.

RIP Chuck Yeager. USAF ace died today. He said this about PAF after 1971: "This air force (the PAF), is second to none...The (1971) air war lasted two weeks and the Pakistanis scored a three-to-one kill ratio”

Chuck Yeager is remembered for being the first man to break the sound barrier by going into a highly risky roketplane. Not for hisoffhand comments on PAF after his plane was bombed off....something that endlessly irritated the American Ambassador to Pakistan at the time who called him a cranky for them.

Meanwhile the gullible Indians never miss an opportunity to point out that IAF destroyed his private plane as if they shot him down in a dogfight. Besides PAF doesn't need a commendation from anyone as the wrecks of IAF jets shot down and collected were enough for Chuck Yeagar and anyone else to draw their conclusion.

When you actually employ risky tactics to fight the battle fiercely you run the chance of being shot down. That's kind of obvious. For not losing jets you only have to play it safe.....

Note even in Chuck's case, we penetrated into Pak Airspace and then bombed his plane because he had Fawad Chaudhry type tendencies.

And according to Indian MOD most air battles took place over India.
Destroying a civilian aircraft while parked at a civilian airport is no major achievement....something Balwantrai Mehta would agree with.

Considering that you launched an attack without any warning and got many planes on ground, 'number of kills' doesn't matter. In the end the IAF, in an integrated way, provided support to the forces as needed to win. Liberating Bangladesh was the objective, not counting planes.

Then why do Indians feel so much butt hurt on Chuck Yeagars comments.
The IAF was only able to function in Eastern sector as it enjoyed 10:1 superiority there.
