BRICS expanded without Bangladesh

It is also surprising that there is no Algeria this time.

.
The key to BRICS expanding is in including Arabian countries. BRICS only true purpose is for a table where Global South can come together and discuss trade and various deals. That is all. This is why both India and China are in it despite politically being seemingly at odds... at least for the moment.

It isn't an alliance, it isn't a military thing, it also isn't even purely economic. It matters not whether BD is included whether that is from China's POV, India's, or BD's. India and China both continue to associate with BD as the three nations please. Including BD into BRICS doesn't somehow earn BD anything they can't get from not being in BRICS.

BRICS true purpose is just to form a table that doesn't include the global hegemon. It benefits all outside the first circle of closest allies of the hegemon to be in BRICS just as a forum if nothing more. Which is why I really don't think China has any interest for India to leave BRICS. Completely a redundant point.

. .
No they can’t cause india has veto power

Like I said China is just dumb to make Bric work and think it will counter west lol

They need some thing different to exclude india and Brazil as well. Latin American countries not going to do any thing against USA.
If China joins the G2 alliance. Everything is not a problem.

.
China's obstruction of Bangladesh's entry into BRICS is rooted in its relationship with Pakistan. Pakistan is unlikely to support Bangladesh's inclusion in BRICS, due to its own interests. However, if China supports Bangladesh's entry, India might consider reciprocating by agreeing to Pakistan's inclusion in BRICS.

You are giving too much importance to Pakistan uniform wearing beggars.

India is a slave of the West.

Well it is still better than being a Street Dog of the West like our Army Generals.

.
bd can get Chinese loan without bric

Bric is bound to be failure because China and Indians are rivals.

this is the dumbest organization in the world

Look at g7. They are always united cause they know what they want with same agenda. Bric is a joke.

I think same is true for SCO.

While the alternate to Swift is long distance away as of now, BRICS at least provides a table for the under developed to have their own group and talk issues.

People are seeing things in a zero sum way, two countries can differ on some but agree on other issues.

By not having a alternate to Dollar, the world has basically put all eggs in one basket (if one has to use management terms, which isn't advisable).

In addition to currency, most of the forums so far have no representation of the under privileged. Leave aside policies its not even possible to table one's issues, and BRICS helps with it. Given the Western domination till date this forum may not look viable, but if taken forward properly it could over time.

That's why BRICS really does need some heavy hitters joining like the energy exporter Arab nations.

Deep down, all the current BRICS nations and the new ones really know they need to explore even for now just to conceptualize alternative thinking, systems, methods. In time hopefully those go from thoughts and dialogue (even in relative secrecy) to implemented actions and tangible systems.

All these long journeys must begin somewhere. US is certainly in decline compared to its strengths from the 1950s to 2000s. At no time in history has the US been this fragmented, economically weak, industrially and technologically challenged no matter what trolls and bots online shout 100000x all over the english internet. No better time for developing nations to at least establish this forum. Including Bangladesh or not can be done in future and in time. All these current era problems will have a solution one day. Hoping the shot callers in China and other parts of the world (won't say where) aren't totally idiots and do have their eyes and thoughts set on the real prize and goal.

In some ways without solving the economic basic problem, this world remains a zero sum game. The struggle has always been between the haves and have nots. The haves are just tripping all over the place recently and the have nots and relative have nots are banding to turn the balance. Regardless of differences, PLEASE let it be that leaders and shot callers within these nations understand and the net effect (despite corrupt ones and traitors) is going to pull all our weight in the right direction of history and providence.

Suffice to say this is all bigger than a question of including Bangladesh for now. If things go in the right direction, pretty much all non western or developed nations eventually will have a chance to not be stuck either in middle income trap or stuck forever in being bought out by wealthier capital anything worth owning and brain drained of so many talented people = stuck forever in poverty and under-development while the established first sinners use first started advantage to always improve two steps further and stepping faster.

A global "redistribution" coming into effect starting this decade means same old in many ways but is still ultimately a plus for the ones at the bottom. Finally to catch a bit of a break even if the new ones at the top repeat the same greed cycle and pattern of abuse.

I don't understand why China is not kicking India out of SCO & BRICS.
Its ok Abdul, you can add it to the increasingly longer list of things you dont understand.

And then you can make another asinine comment and we can add it to the list of "Abdul's gems" list.

Totally agree

The current financial order was setup, when the West was the sole leader. The rest were scraping along so had no say, which isn't a criticism on the West though. Its what it is

However the West themselves in a way have set in motion, thought and work by the rest to look for alternative. They did this by weaponizing the system itself.

It all depends on the rest, to work towards this alternative system. The road ahead is long and has lot of roadblocks, but the journey at least has begun.

Yeah basically the way I see it is that if the west continues unchallenged by the rest and since they are steps ahead, they basically buy everything worth owning from the rest and attract all the capital and brain from the rest.

It is evolution in progress with humanity as a collective organism where the system that is "best" selects out all competing systems but the problem here is that the western system ended up in this position by literally robbing the world for 300 years with the gun and since then has been robbing the world by the dollar and the passport.

Where that path takes us is clear. The good sides of their uniquely evolved systems (if there are any and that's a personal matter for readers to decide) can be and has been emulated and even improved upon elsewhere. The west has absolutely no monopoly of decency or civility ... NONE! at all! in fact when challenged and when in desperation, their morality drops away every time all the time. We're all human and they and the rest are no better or worse overall. This forum prefers thinking in selective examples no matter what the topic but we all know this deep down.

Therefore I simply hope for the world to get balanced. For the horders of stolen wealth to redistribute to Bangladesh, to Arabia, to Asia, to Africa, to South America and so on. The poverty in the rest of world is simply criminal.

We're in super early days though. This journey is long and probably fraught with resistance from the ones at the top hahaha.

Nothing more to add but, as believed in most Eastern philosophies

Everything in this Universe, has a growth phase/Pinnacle face/Decline face.

Adding a Indian touch:

Things are cyclical and Karma like Westerners say is a real Bitch.

So you mean India blocked Bangladesh’ entry into BRICS so that Hasina doesn’t use it as success in upcoming elections - which might help her win?

I guess you know it very well what some Indian news papers reported recently. They said even in 2014 and 2018 India let go easily despite rigged election but this time they won’t let go her easily if India does not get certain things from her specially curtailing relationship with China and cutting all the Islamists.

There are discussion on going regarding the above and there are chances the above are the reasons why India vetoed inclusion of Bangladesh into BRICS. This is also to give Hasina a strong signal prior to G20 meeting that she need to maintain distance from China as entire discussion about inclusion into BRICS came due to assurance from China and from South Africa earlier.

Without membership technically there were no need for her to go there with such a large group spending people’s money.

There are rumors that west might have created pressure on India as well for this veto as they did not wanted Hasina to give any carrot prior to election and wants to maintain pressure on her.

The other country Brazil that vetoed for other reason as they are very cautious to increase the number of members.

India wanted to block Iran and Ethiopia as well initially as Modi wanted to set criteria that if there are international sanction on any country they can not become member mainly for Iran and a minimum per capita gdp required to be a member which was set mainly for Ethiopia. But for some reason India did not veto those inclusion. May be Russia stood beside Iran for inclusion and Ethiopia has been added as counterweight of Egypt.

Interestingly countries like Algeria and Indonesia were excluded as well. I do not know the reason.

Regardless this is a big blow for Hasina prior to election. It will be interesting to see what she offers to Modi during the G20 meeting.

An interesting discussion on the topic here:

China, Russia and India know well that BD will become a liability on them in terms of wealth. BD has little resources and it’s foreign liabilities are already near $100 billion that is rising fast.

I really wonder what contribution can BD make.
Stop your nonsense and conspiracy theories. They have included Ethiopia which has a far worse economic track record. Plus China and Russia were for adding Bangladesh into BRICS. South Africa was positive as well. It’s India and Brazil blocked Bangladesh’s entry into BRICS.

Indonesia never apply for BRICS membership and it is stated directly by Jokowi in his YT channel (Sekretariat President YT channel). You should be critical when some media or analyst said this and that without any prove. All opinion about Indonesia applying BRICS membership are alll still in speculation level. Every thing has been clear by our President statement in his recent YT channel since many questions arised of why Indonesia is not included.

Despite so Indonesia has already been quite close with BRICS and also had already join the BRICS summit meeting virtually last year.
