out of all these issues the lorry drivers issue is the worse

I was reading a news couple of days ago thatan average pay of lorry drivers of £17.50 was raised to £24 due to shortage of drivers and still the drivers want to quit due to too many working hours. It’s unbelievable amount of income for lorry drivers as not even Doctors earn that much unless they are doing overtime

.
Boris fucked us over, he is even changing metric units to imperial units, after 55 years it’s the most stupidest idea, he makes no sense, I hope all these tory supporters r crying now.

Doctors make less than £24/hour in UK??? If so, that's horrendous.

£24 is that a per hour pay?

Yes lorry drivers earn a lot nowadays because the european drivers left to work in their home countries and the shortage of drivers pushing companies to raise their salary

Yeah GP's earn round about £16-20 an hour on salary and £90-£100 per hour on locum work

I am kinda glad UK left eu, look at the rampant islamphobia making its way in Germany and France.

.
I think there are a few brevity supporters here. I hope the extra money they and their parents have to find for food is not having an impact on their daily lives.
The food price inflation is significant. Example Helmans mayo large jar asda price used to be £2, now its £2.50. That'd just one item

Doctors make more than that, The minimum salary for a qualified GP in the UK is 62K according to the BMA, based on a 37.5 hour week. That's like £32 an hour.

You are right though, a big contributor is the poor working conditions and pay of lorry drivers. Pre-brexit this slump was not noticed as much because EU drivers filled the gap. We don't have that anymore, anyone with any skills/opportunities who was from the EU and felt unwelcome left. The only ones hanging around are those benefit leaches.

The very last Guardian article i posted gives horrific detail about the working conditions of lorry drivers.

Most GP work 3x morning sessions and 3x evening sessions per week. Each session pays around £9500 to £11,000 per year so 6x sessions at 10k will take the salary to 60k.

but lorry drivers do more hours as they end up doing long routes and sleeping on the side road or motels and end up earning 80k for countless hours

GPS of course earn more if they do locum roughly around £90 an hour or overtime in their surgery. Most GP prefer 3 to 3.5 days as part of their contract so that they can have a life or else earn more with overtime

To be quite frank with you, I perceive any news about britain being in turmoil, with a heavy dose of salt!! Why? Because this is one state that is the epitome of deception.

At heart, I would wish it were true. But I would wait and assess them before drawing to any conclusions.

However I would say this, that considering britain amassed enormous wealth as a colonial power. I wouldn't put it pass them to take this as an opportunity to deceive the ones whom they classify as the enemy, with such news.

Unfortunately I expect we'll see a drop in the standard of living, maybe just in the short term, but it is real. It's slow and steady but it is happening. It's not due to a lack of wealth, but poor governance.

  • I tried to get a doctors appointment 2 days in a row now, can't get through on the phone.
  • I get my groceries on a weekly trip - if i want to get everything i need, nowadays i go first thing in the morning.
  • I grew up in a non afluent part of my city, we've always have issues with crime and drugs, but we've never seen homeless people. Now we see people asleep on the street.
  • Local charity workers i know talk about the huge queues at our local food bank (where people who cannot buy food go to get food for free).
  • There are national campaigns by sports people to tackle child hunger. There are many kids now who only get a proper meal at school.

Those in power are fine, but the fringes of society are suffering and we're slowing going into a direction where the lives of the middle class will be affected too. Rising gras prices is a concern for everyone. We've all had a tax rise of 5% passed last month.
