US sanctions are so destructive because they target companies trading with the sanctioned companies. That means if a EuroCompany is still trading with Iran when the sanctions are on, they cannot trade with America. Obviously no company will choose the Iran over America, so Europe will be forced to follow the sanctions without formally implementing them.

Bingo. This is where Iran is hurt. I don't think USA will attack Iran. Actually US has done more damage this way. It's a slow corrosive effect that has placed Iran generations behind. Look at it this way. India and Pakistan have massive populations but little by way of natural resources.

Iran had small population in 1980. It had massive oil reserves - probably in top three in the world. It had reasonably educated population. It had abundant land with enough agri potential to feed itself. Three decades later Iran should have been Norway or Sweden of Asia. This potential has been blunted by US policy that has trapped Iran in a expensive economic prison that has wasted the oil resources. Yes to be fair Iran has still done okay but look at where she could have been. That is the sad part. A wasted opportunity. It would have been nice to have a Sweden next door to Pakistan. but alas. The mullahs !

No they haven't they've done horribly. They have a per capita income of $5700 (India and Pakistan's is near $2K). They are the poorest major oil producing country by a long shot. Yup. As soon as the sanctions ended they started to think they were so smart and clever, that they could renege on agreements, support terrorism, and build weapons without punishment. One can agree or disagree, but taking his personal opinion and saying 'hey, listen, Israel has a different opinion' is like taking Jimmy Carter and saying 'listen, U.S. has a different opinion'. He doesn't represent Israel since many years ago. The one who represents U.S. right now is Trump, like it or not. The one who represents Israel right now is Netanyahu, like it or not. Both of them agree regarding Iran.

In 2017. No. 1980. Yes. 40% in 1800 would have placed Iran in top slot. THe point I was trying to convey was Iran was placed to go high in 1979. It was better placed then Turkey. Compare them two today. And you had the oil. In 1980 Iran's population was only 38 million.

This decertification of the deal puts the ball in the US congress court, it will have 60 days to restudy the deal and see where it can put new sanctions on Iran.. the only options they have now, is the BM testing option and declaring the IRGC a terrorist organization.. but trying to open other options, like the military and nuclear links between Iran and NK..
