Saudi arabia wants to diversify its economy and move away from oil exports to a diversified economy free from oil export dependence. They want to make saudi arabia's economy to be equal to european economies like germany and UK.

For thus purpose MBS is investing heavily in China, india, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Countries like china russia pakistan and india cant be used against iran. Small countries can be used but these big nations with their own interests and strong leaderships won't ever work against iran as it is against their interest.

China pakistan have interst with protecting iran instead of makong it weak.

Saudi Arabia cannot just dump US weapons like that, their whole doctrine is based on US weaponry including the newly bought F-15s silent Eagle. But yes it seems defense deals maybe on the cards.

It won't happen overnight but the process has started. Pakistan may be influencing this process. Saudi Arabia is following Pakistan which has already dumped US & EU weapons and started replacing them with Russian and Chinese weapons.
