Pakistan truck driver held on drug charges, LoC trade suspended

Srinagar: A Pakistan truck driver has been held on drug charges in Uri district of Jammu and Kashmir resulting in the suspension of trade across the Line of Control.

The customs official and the state police personnel in Uri recovered 305 packets of drugs.

Ministry of External Affairs said, "The law of the land will take its course."

The recovery was made during a routine check on Friday evening

Two local contacts of the driver were also arrested

Ill gotten money from drugs smuggling finances terrorism.

About a year ago similar thing happened, Pakistan did all the drama from halting the trade across the border for several days at stretch to all diplomatic manoeuvres and ultimately fell in line. Since templet for dealing with such situations have been already developed , I don't see incumbent government deviating from that. Though, I expect less drama from drama queen.
