BREAKING: North Korea has Conducted a Nuclear Test

You know what front door is? When US military is stationed IN DPRK and not South Korea / Japan. When US has a military base in DPRK then you can talk.

Whatever makes you feel better pal. In reality, we're right at your doorstep, and there is little China can do about it.

.
What I find strange is US should place such a large concentration of troops in harms way. They are easy pickings for NK/China/Russia. There is only two ways I can interpret this:

1. US putting its own troops in the region is sending out a loud and clear message there WON'T be any war.
2. They are super confident their troops cannot get touched by any nuclear/missile strike. Or if they get decimated, they can give such an overwhelming response that no one will think about it. Which I find hard to accept given its Russia + China + NK they are facing.

The dude has trouble understanding what encirclement and our front door means. If having a military base in South Korea and Japan means at our front door then US has been in our backyard for decades. So why is he talking about China is starting to get encircled amid DPRK nuclear and BM tests? Another player he seems to be leaving out of the discussion is RUSSIA. He thinks Russia is non issue for some unknown reason, why not ask Putin what he thinks if US has a base in DPRK.

If we're such "easy pickings" then why haven't they acted? It's because those countries would receive an "overwhelming response", and they know it. Go ahead...try your luck, see what happens.

Yes, its pretty unclear to me as well. Maybe they need to be seen doing something by their allies SK and Japan?

An encirclement of China is a long way away. They will need bases in Mongolia, India, Myanmar, the list goes on and on.

What I am saying, is that you are only reinforcing the stalemate by your presence. It's not about whether NK/China can act first. It's also about you can't act first. Because a large contingent of your forces is in harm's way.

I would be more scared if America completely pulled out of N.E. Asia. Now that would be BIG trouble.

Why should DPRK act first? You see what i mean? Always daring DPRK to launch an attack on US soil or whatever.
We are daring US to strike first.

The US has a network of alliances and military bases/infrastructure that stretch from SK/Japan all the way south to Australia and west to India. The US can project naval/air power at any point through this region. In the age of long range precision strike weaponry, we're absolutely at your front door. An with the qualitative buildup of US forces, China's ability to maneuver in the region will become even more restricted. With new weapons such as the F-35, and LRASM/Maritime Strike Tomahawks, the US can hold Chinese forces at high risk over huge distances.

The US has the alliances and military capability to keep you bogged down in the Asia Pacific.

North Korea is the only nation that has tested nukes in the 21st century.

We know how it turned out with Ukraine when US tried to get too close to the Russians  so much for being in our backyard. Sorry but i'm not impressed with this so called of network alliance. US is no longer the dominant power in SCS with our AC killers, Guam killers and ever increasing Naval forces. Whatever keeps your wet dream alive mate.

@terranMarine

Let's take one example of US encirclement strategy: Afghanistan. After making you waste hundreds of billions of dollars, China is now pulling strings such that both Afghan and Pakistan government have started giving friendly statements, China is recognizing terrorists as being a problem there and working to rectify it. End result: Afghanistan becomes economically dependent on China while US forces keep paying for security.

Do much for encirclement strategy.

What Americans don't realize is that China has deep cultural linkages with many neighbors and it knows how to strengthen these bonds as and when required.

He needs geography lessons, most Americans don't know what the world map looks like. China is a HUGE country with 14 neighbors, i have yet to see Americans having troops in all our neighborhood to see this encirclement he keeps on talking about. Yes Afghanistan is just one example of failed US strategy, Americans aren't gonna win against the Taliban. Afghanistan is surrounded by the STANS, Iran and China, US has no other choice than to kiss Pakistan's feet for help.

Please....US forces are strategically placed, where in the event of hostilities, we could economically end you. We don't have to literally circle you. The Chinese economy relies on freedom of navigation through bodies of water such as the Strait of Malacca, the SCS, and ECS to the open waters of the Western Pacific. These are China's economic arteries/lifelines. The US has the capability to cut those off and target Chinese ports thereby suffocating the Chinese economy in the process.

These aren't "wet dreams." It's reality.

In the event of hostilities, that's lame. More likely in the event of war. If you think China has no alternatives or not working on them you are living in your own dreams. It's unwise to pick a fight with someone who is the biggest holder of US debt.

An once again, this brings me to my main point. China has failed to drive the US out of the Asia Pacific. Maybe if China actually got along with its neighbors, things may have turned out differently.

And what has it got to do with all of the discussion? Dude stop running in circles. If US can punish China in the case of doing business with DPRK, just do it. If US has China bogged down, start another Korean War right now. All talk but no war means you can keep this delusion to yourself. US is all talk talk talk talk when it comes down to dealing with DPRK. Wake us all up when the war starts and maybe then the world get to witness how impressive US is in choking China. :azn:

It has everything to do with it. I could say the same things about China. How many warnings was it last time our destroyer passed your reef? 10? You warn us when we pass through your ECS ADIZ, and we ignore you. All you do is talk, warn, then cry about it. So where does this leave us then? The US building up its forces in YOUR near abroad. Have fun with that.
