The interview is with an Al-Qaeda member who has been sentenced to life in prison. The interview takes place in the prison. It was made in order to highlight and expose the ideology of such terrorists.

It wouldn't be impossible but to carry out an attack on an Iranian city, ISIS members will have to pass through hostile Kurdish and Shia areas.

Kurdish, Baloch and occasionally Arab separatists attack targets in Iran on a monthly basis. It is just underreported by the media. If ISIS really wanted to attack Iran they could likely do it but I do not believe that they want to open another front and their priority is to cause havoc in the Arab world. Same goes for Israel by the way. You can clearly see that by watching their propaganda videos. Their main focus, in terms of Arab regimes, is actually the House of Saud. Other than the Syrian and Iraqi regimes.

However ISIS will only lose strength from now on. The best they can hope for is attacks like the recent one in Baghdad (working underground without controlling any land continuously) like they did in 2012 when the "surge" started. Largely thanks to the Al-Maliki regime and other factors.

Once Iraq defeats ISIS on the ground and improves security (a good step was the removal of those fake bomb doctors that the police has been using for well over 1 decade - absolutely madness) they will only do sporadic hit and run attacks until they die out in a few years time. Anyway Iraq's security and future is connected to Syria next door so I am talking from a perspective where Syria becomes stable or 1 party prevails. Although Syria are worse of and they might experience what Iraq has been experiencing since 2003.

ISIS only operates in failed countries (see Libya and Yemen).

Anyway you can see by the number of recruits by ISIS. They are struggling. So all those doomsday predications for the region are way off IMO.

I would be more worried about other regions of the Muslim world (Nigeria, Afghanistan etc.) on the long run.

Nonsense. In fact, extremist communists in the Middle East introduced suicide bombings way before the members of the religion of peace picked it up. Hezbollah did indeed adopt the tactic, but never targetted the public in general. Quite the difference.
