LAHORE: Lawyers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have filed a constitutional petition with regard to ‘memo controversy’ in the Supreme Court Wednesday, Geo News reported. The petition has filed following the Article 184-3 of constitution.

According to sources, PML-N has made president, Federation, Chief of the Army Staff, Husain Haqqani and Mansoor Ijaz party in the case.

DG ISI Suja Pasha and foreign secretary have also been made party in the case.

PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, in his petition, referred to Mansoor Ijaz’s article in the UK paper and stated that President Zardari and Husain Haqqani denied the claims initially, therefore, the court should play its role in the matter to safeguard national interest.

This is a weird move by PMLN... I don't know why these guys drag Apex court in every issue. Its not like safeguarding national interest its more like bringing bad name to nation.

I beg to differ here. It has been our history to push things under the carpet and keep the masses in dark about the matters that were so vital for us to know about. There are many questions unanswered about this whole scandal. See how the incident of Abotabad operation has gone to shades. If SC could fully investigate what were the real motives and who were the real characters behind all this scandal, it could prove to be in our benefit in the longer run. For how long we will let things go unclarified like this? We should be courageous enough to see who, when and where made a mistake to stop that mistake from happening again in future.

Did you not experience that Security Agencies handle such situation in the presence of Haqani, the protocol has been set for that and that would be example for Sherry Rehman. The only problem that can cause is… could Sherry Rehman introduce another situation like MemoGate I think Haqani’s end would be lesson for her and as well as the person who is behind MemoGate .

In fact it was long time demand of military establishment to change Haqqani specially after 2008, once they succeeded to remove another unwanted personality which was National security advisor in 2008 and on next number was Haqqani so they found suitable time to get ride of him.

Next appointment for this post seems like appointment of Hina Rabbani Khar as it will give more access to military establishment taking in hand US affairs.
