I think they use Tercom. They may act like log-range cruise missiles.
Correct, INS (Inertial navigation system) + TERCOM (terrain contour matching) + ATR (automatic target recognition), etc. make long range UAVs possible without direct link through radio, GPS or satellites.
However, if UAVs are used within the country or for the border patrol, radio towers can be used to constantly communicate with UAV even if its range is 50.000 km
