Breaking News-Parliament Building of Afghanistan under attack

Why hesitating in providing support to a fellow govt against rebels ? Its only Indian army which can stop taliban.
yes, indian army will stop the terrorists if they want to... any way, india is training afghan security forces to fight the war by their own without any external support/

.
.
What? ok now clear. At the moment India doesn't want to stop terrorists rather support them.
i will answer you question, before that pls tell me why pakistan army didn't send soldiers to fight against Taliban in Afghanistan?? don't they want to destroy taliban?? (don't say that pakistan army is already preoccupied by their fight in the country. because not even half of the PA is deployed in this conflict).
why don't Pakistan army send soldier to SA despite they asked your help?
why pakistan army never send soldier to sri lanka to fight LTTE??..

Perhaps you have no idea how much corrupt ASF is.

corruption is in every country, the problem ASF faces is they don't understand the value of the costly equipment they carelessly using and selling as garbages... because those are not afghan peoples's money. they don't understand the value... a soldier learn to respect his weapons when those are brought by his own nation and fighting for hiswon country commanded by their-own countrymen...
now the behavior of soldiers of ASF is like teenage boy from a rich family who likes to live a luxurious life. he don't understand the value of money and the hard work of their parents.
this problem of afghan army can only be changed by developing that nation. when those soldiers get the feeling that their sacrifice won't be wasted, they will be more dedicated and sincere. till then this corruption will continue.

I don't think there will be a reconciliation.
we live in hope. can always try
Afghanistan has been ruled better under a monarchy with a sword. keeping uzbeks, tajiks, Punjsehris, Pashtons at swords length and generously taking the heads off the shoulders when compliance (reconciliation) was an issue.

the idea is, you beat your opponent so bad that he has no choice but to reconcile. Afghanistan is unfortunately a place of too many chiefs or a pack of Arctic wolves sleeping with one eye open and devouring each other when they can
this has been the case for centuries before ISI and before Modi G... I understand what you are saying but a good chance was lost after invasion when Pasthons were dismissed due to the pressure from racist Northern Alliance warlords who ruled the south like a conquered land, it just gave Taliban the space back which they had lost due to their oppressive rule. over the years what people have suffered at the hands of Northern alliance has just given Taliban the space they needed to reignite their fight and now they matter once again.
I don't have any opinion about failure or success maybe they will change but maybe not
but chances of failure increase if the peace brokers and 3rd parties are unfair in their reconciliation drive and make same mistakes

in order to come out of the hole, the first thing you need to do is stop digging.

They are splintering up with regards to the talks...
Taliban dissociate themselves from Afghan peace move

I also read that they have reservations against Pakistan being a party in the peace talks.

they got to have reservations re Pakistan
they got the pummelling recently which not only Americans acknowledged but the Afghans did too , to a point that they have started conducting joint operations.

North Waziristan operation was not launched soon enough and that time cant be brought back but that place is not a good place to take refuge for them so yea they are hostile towards Pakistan directly, before they were only guests of TTP.

Saudis could have helped but to them confronting Iranians is their biggest priority,

They have even discredited Chinese role in the peace talks - as expected.

Mr Aziz told the committee that Pakistan had facilitated last month a meeting of Afghan High Peace Council Secretary Masoom Stanekzai with Taliban representatives in the Chinese city of Urumqi and another meeting was planned this month.

Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif, during his visit to Kabul in February, had told Afghan President Ashraf Ghani that Taliban were ready for talks with his government.

The group clarified that its political office based in Qatar was authorised to undertake contacts in this regard. “Ever since the inauguration of this political office, no one else has been granted permission to meet and discuss political affairs with anyone as a representative of the Islamic emirate without receiving prior authorisation by either the leader of Islamic emirate or the political office itself,” the statement from the Taliban leadership said.

Through statements the militant group has acknowledged contacts with Afghan lawmakers, notables and officials in Norway, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, but their silence on the Urumqi meeting and its tacit dismissal as unauthorised in the latest statement reflect their disquiet over the process facilitated by Pakistan.

The Taliban have previously shown reservations about Pakistan's involvement in peace talks.

The reason why I called it a waste of time...

Though such future attacks as the one on the Afghan parliament will kill any peace process moves. The taliban are in no mood for reconciliation.
