Army had no other option but to deny it, even if COAS advised so. Because doing so especially after all the mayhem would directly side army with TuQ and IK which would seriously compromise army's image. No matter how much army would like to make a coup, the play has been spoiled to such an extent that they will have to constraint no matter how much violence does it cost.
