I wouldn't speak bad of the IAF. There really is no comparison between BAF and IAF. Like none. Like zero. So please if you want to be taken seriously, don't make ridiculous assertions. That being said, hopefully after BAF gets started on acquiring some more modern types and mastering the tactics and tech, BAF capability will be something to comment on. I have no doubt BAF can be a small, modern, and highly effective force given some time if things are handled properly. Also I will just leave this here as an example of what Bengali pilots are capable of.

My words exactly. IAF has a long professional history compared to BAF, we still have a lot to learn operationally. We should not underestimate IAF.
However I have no disagreement on the spirit and intent in which @Species made the statement. His heart is in the right place. We have to grow - a lot.
Our Air Force does not have to equal India's. All it has to do is be a 'modern, defensive and credible deterrent'.
Look at Singapore's armed forces vs. that of Malaysia/Indonesia. That's a great analog.
