Let me tell you something. Nobody will sell you an plane with Manufacturing costs alone. Secondly someone posted here with a Chinese source of J10A with a price tag of 42M$ in 2010. That's like 7.6 years back. Even the cost of J10A will be more than 50m now and considering that its not produced anymore, J10B will cost 60m odd manufacturing costs alone. That should costs something like 800 bucks.. And providing of ground maintainance, installation, weapons, spare, training facilities, services.. Even if China doesnt want to make profits, that J10 deal alone should cost 1.5 B bucks. A squadron with all facilities even at 1.5B is still pretty Cheap which only Chinese can do it now. No country can offer you a squadron for such money.

Our future orders of Rafale will be cheap cos the first agreement deals with creation of infrastructure(in 2 airbases), training, maintainance of engines with some spares too. So inducting a new platform for cheap is pure fantasy.

You have no idea what the manufacturing costs of the J-10b is. There is no real source how much any J-10 model costs.

Chinese weapons cost roughly 2/3rd of what the equivalent Western arms cost and so we can say around 50% with no profit for China. There was an estimate of 45 million dollars for J-10b earlier in this thread and that makes sense.
Yes, BD will pay extra for weapons and training but that can be arranged later.

China does not care for profit from BD as it supplies weapons on soft loans.

Why are Indians so upset at what looks like a great deal for BD from China?

.
well, if true this is the sweetest deal in recent years! i hope the official confirmation is made soon.
i can see why some people from the neighboring vicinity are blowing their tops. they might send their minister again to offer some free 'teja teja' next! i would not be surprised!!!
btw, best wishes for BD China friendship!!! :china::china::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

.
Lets wait and see Indian media and their former generals chanting around

"Why would Bangladesh need J-10B" Why?Why?Why?Why?Why?

We buy stuffs from China for friendship price which means they sell us for the price that their airforce pays. For instance RUAF pays around 20-30 million for SU-30 but they sell them to india for 60 million. Same for China PLAF pays around 30 million for a single bird.
Then again we get them on credit and most of them time we get waiver of the loan before we make a next purchase.

Indian and Saudi case is unique. There is no better milking cows than these two countries in the world when it comes to defense sell. No company will just let it pass until they make some money out of these two countries. They bank on spuer pawa wet dream.

Yea. Cos BD have saved China from doomsday that they waiver off ur loans. Second, India known for its tough negotiating skills gets the best of its kind for the best in any deal. The toys which we have you guys can only dream off.

Come back when the rumour becomes official.

.
do you really think just fudging the numbers would make all this be plausible? and everyone will believe you can get all that for a billion dollars?

The government probably didn't realize the deal would be leaked and so the numbers could be hidden with some clever accounting ...

Well, they are not so much upset at the deal, or even Bangledesh getting weapons, so much as even as a unconfirmed rumor, how far away China has advanced compared to them. Usually, they can just say well nobody buys your crap, or why only Pakistan uses it, or USA has been doing it since 1243. The fact of the matter is, India is like the poor sheltered child, in South Asia, they can be like the big bully in the yard, and really they know there is a bigger one in the world, like the US, but they are so far away it's like they are not even part of this world.

Along came China, from the same neighborhood that now has a mansion and a Lambo, it's never good to have your own inferiority confirmed to you. Worse, they had the same opportunities and squandered it. People hate people like that.

This deal if true, could be at any price, could be 1 dollar or 10 billion dollars. Fact of the matter is China is interested in selling these weapons, and subsidizing them is something China has been shown to do, if it allows China to demonstrate more of its capabilities.

according to BDmillitary source estimation:

Y-20 :D

That would mean 1 J-10"B" is worth 42 million dollars..

Pak was looking at J-10As for 42+ million in 2010-12...

And Bangladesh bought MBT-2000s for 4 million a pop..

And Pak bought mi-35E for 38.5 million!! minus weapons and we have operated and gifted Mi25s in th6e past and operate hundred + MIs and have a MI rebuild, overhaul and maintenance workshop.

You people are more crazy than Zarvan.

Chinese are businessmen...

I've yet to see China giving weapons for free.

Even in Pak-China deals it's cash followed by loans.. while smaller items are come on hard cash.

23 million of a 60 million J-10B is nothing short of a fantasy.

Unless China is going to sell, the airframe without any avionics, engine (which alone would be worth 4-5 million).

Since it's a package offer, let's not try to list the unit price of each. You know the business rules......friendly price means a price little bit higher than how much PLAAF procures it.

That would mean 1 J-10"B" is worth 23.2 million dollars..

I think it might be the airframe, ammunitions/backup engines and maintenance are not included.

That's foolish man.

42 million for a J-10B? The old JF-17 "allegedly" cost 25+ mil "fly away" cost.

And this is the latest "B" variant. With all new avionics and gizmos. Not a Brazilian Tucano.

Even if it's the fly away cost, without any spares, weapons, training, infrastructure, services and their nessecery support etc.

True enough, and honestly we don't know much about this deal or even if this exists. Whatever the case maybe, just being able to move these weapons is a plus. Maybe, there is a larger follow on deal to be signed later. Could be a lot of different things, we just don't know enough. Though 23 million for J-10B is obviously not the case, so it's probably not a straight forward cash for wears deal, though in arms deals, they rarely are.

They have calculated, the airframe is 43 millions per in this deal.

China aid the airframe, BD pay for the missile and bombs their self.

this is so so true, wish I could burn this into the skulls of some of the members here saying India will catch up with China.

before you guys go all zombie on me.. "burn this into the skulls" meaning tattoo into the brains so you guys can remember it without having someone constantly reminding you.

.
I done know As to whether this 1 billion goes through in the form of military aid or soft loan, but highly likely by FMS.

@DESERT FIGHTER please recalculate it.
In this rumored deal the fighters (J-10B) or trainers or package value aren't big surprises, even the strategic lifter (Y-20) is fine, what interests me is the AWACS (KJ-200) which is a new category to BAF.
