Oddly enough- I know your enemies love this move...nothing quantifies what they say and garner support against you internationally, than you proving them right...

In the US we have democrats and republicans, republicans say MSNBC is anti US, democrats say FOX news is anti country- but they don't advocate to shut down the other...

What an epic shame . Its a joke when hate groups can gather in numbers and deliver speeches and yet you place a ban on media, that promises the aam junta of information and transparency. This ban should be ideally be withdrawn soon

geo news has been accused of propagating enemy propaganda.. they play bollywood songs and show hindi shows on their channel..
also most of their panelists consists of liberals like hamid mir,najam sethi etc.. thus making people believe that it is a foreign funded channel.they ain't too pro-pak army either.
heck,people call it JEW channel too.

Wont be long untill Nawaz Pulls another grenade out of his a$$ to piss armed forces.
People here should understand that they got their license cancelled rather than a ban. Licence can be issued after a while so brace yourself for a very obvious decision by government as they are just waiting for the dust to settle.

It stokes certain egos to let everyone know that they themselves remain above the law and are the sole arbiters of can and cannot be said. Of course, the nation as a whole loses much, but these people do not care about petty things like country, they only put themselves above all else.

more then the establishment as a, democrat I am feeling that the international community has not done enough in this case , I think the international community urgently needs to take note of this situation, the guardian news has taken a strong note of this antidemocratic step by the establishments in Pakistan, here a strong statement from US state department condemning this ban on media freedom along with the U.N human rights commission for media freedom & other European union authorities needs to act fast, a simple warning to revoke (GSP plus) status of Pakistan can strengthen media freedom & democracy in Pakistan, the west cannot remain silent to this blatant violation of media freedom by the powers that be , the establishment has exercised the might is right theory, now is the time for the west to reply back with mightier power projection which can send the massage straight to the establishment that the civilized world ,will not tolerate their tantrums anymore ! now is the time for the west to tighten the screws on the establishment , the people & journalists of Pakistan have given immense sacrifices for freedom of media the west cannot let us down

More then anything its biggest mistake was not properly estimating the response and feelings of the general public


It could have withstood any pressure except the pressure of the public turning against it, GEO most likely will only be banned for a short period of time but the message to all TV channels is now clear, do not act against the nation

TV stations like GEO pander to india and this aman ki asha crap, this is no longer acceptable

Geo is part of the Jang media group. They own the daily Urdu Jung News paper, English language The News, and the Geo News, Geo TV and Entertainment channels. They have been allegedly mocking Pakistan's intelligence services ISI, they are also known as pro Taliban and pro Nawaz Sharif. Most of Pakistani public is supporting the ban on this traitor channel. They take foriegn funding to malign the very ideals of Pakistan and its armed forces.

i'll be blunt here.....if the spooks (as well as the nation) keep up the pressure, they aint untouchable at all

You know how things work in Pakistan. In about a year Pakistanis will forget everything. Geo will be back on air as usual spewing its normal propaganda against Pakistan.
