I knew it before I opened the thread, that it was an April fools' joke. Try harder.

(But a reasonably good idea for a fake thread, since many Indians do have a lurking fear in their hearts, of exactly such a thing happening.)

Other ideas for April 1 threads:

In the east asia section, something like "Pyongyang declares war on Seoul, heavy artillery shelling reported across DMZ."
"North Korea fires nuclear missiles at Seoul, all communications with Seoul cut off."
"USAF bombers strike across North Korea, as submarines fire tomahawks at C&C nodes."

In the Kashmir war section:
"Jammu Kashmir legislative assembly passes resolution declaring independence from India; Seeks Pakistan's assistance to build a stable, prosperous new country."

In Pakistan's current affairs section:
"Former president Musharaff assassinated by suspected Taliban suicide bombers."

In Iran section:
"Israel has been wiped off the map."
