Likud top body urges annexation of parts of West Bank

The Likud Central Committee, the party’s top decision-making body, unanimously passes a resolution Sunday urging the faction’s leaders to formally annex parts of the West Bank and allow unlimited construction in the settlements.

The vote by Likud Central Committee is not binding on its Knesset lawmakers, but does carry political force as MKs need the support of the 3,000-member body to succeed in the party’s primaries.

The resolution reads: “Fifty years after the liberation of Judea and Samaria, and with them Jerusalem, our eternal capital, the Likud Central Committee calls on Likud’s elected leaders to work to allow unhindered construction and to extend Israeli law and sovereignty in all the areas of liberated settlement in Judea and Samaria.”

Israel wants to annex all of West Bank and all of Golan Heights. It is not about Jerusalem, and they are not only people entitled to Jerusalem if you're speaking from historical/religious perspective. Look at the photo provided, there are settlements all over, they would essentially annex half or more of West Bank and save last portion for several years from now. They are not putting forth any proposal and don''t want a two state solution.

Supposed offer does not exist as Muslims keep fighting for Utopian dream of Jerusalem. If Muslims declare this proposal, it you will get more support and will make progress towards what I was alluding to.

Ridiculous.

I've read from somewhere before why Israel can never 'return' the Golan heights(which she has already formally annxed)- due to historical and strategic reasons.

The name of the area already tells one why- it occupies the heights overlooking the israeli lowlands(sea of galilee) to the west n southwest- and this importance was highlighted during the yom kippur war when amassed Syrian tanks, overlooking the unprepared Israeli army from the heights- had major victories against israel early in the war.

'West bank' was n is a Jordanian creation to seize land for Arabs. The region has historically been called Judea(how the term 'Jew', a person from the land of Judea- even came from).

Same for jerusalem. Arabs were never the native inhabitants of the region where today's holy land is becos the Moses's people, the Jews- have already been assigned this piece of land.
