MNS warns Pakistan actors: Leave India within 48 hours or get thrown out
22 mins ago | Published by : ILT Staff Reporter
Mumbai, Sep 23: So, the Raj Thackeray-headed Maharashtra Nivnirman Sena (MNS) has taken the lead in asking Pakistani actors to get out India.
Taking a cue from his cousin’s Shiv Sena, which had vowed not to allow Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan to promote their upcoming films in Maharashtra, the MNS Marathi Chitrapat Sena – has threatened Pakistani actors to leave India.
While the threat has not named any actor, Fawad Khan, who made his Bollywood debut with the 2014 film Khoobsurat, has Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, coming up for release.
Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Rahul Dholakias Raees, in which she stars alongside Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
The MNS has given a 48-hour deadline to Pakistani actors and artists to leave India or the “MNS will push them out.”

An Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS)-affiliate on Friday set a 48-hour deadline for all Pakistani artists working in India to immediately leave the country. “We gave a 48 hour deadline to Pakistani actors and artists to leave India or MNS will push them out,” said Amey Khopkar, MNS Chitrapat Sena.
This comes at a time of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan after terrorists killed 18 Army personnel at an Army camp in Uri, Kashmir India blamed Pakistan for the attack as probe agencies reportedly recovered weapons and ammunition bearing Pakistani insignia from the site. Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the attack and said that it won’t go unpunished.
It is, however, not the first time that Pakistani artists have been threatened by Mumbai-based political parties. Shiv Sena in the past had forced noted ghazal singer Ghulam Ali to cancel his performance in Mumbai. They also threatened to launch a stir against a cricket match between India and Pakistan during the T20 World Cup.
