@Serpentine the funy thing is that even during Ahmadinejad presidency, IranAir ordered A380 but it was denied by Airbus due to sanctions.I cant imagine these guys would be complaining if the same deal was signed in that era.

If your only concern is supporting Iran's industry, we can get along perfectly. unfortunately you have only political intentions and bad will in all threads.for your notice after I get my electrical engineering license, I will take a B2 course (avionic) and apply for a job in aviation.I mean, this is my field of interest and I think I have a better understanding of aviation and I assure you that your comments in this thread make no sense.

As for ATR-72 vs IRan-140/an-140 comparison, its stupid as expected. there are only 33 an-140/IRan-140s built whereas the number of ATR-72 built is over 750. yet An-140/IRan-140 has 6 hull loss accidents ( 4 out of 6 had fatalities) while that of ATR-72 is 12. off course ATR is a better plane and your point is invalid.I must admit Dash 8 Q-400 is safer plane anyway but ATR is OK.we should study ATR's crash investigation in detail.

If you want Iran's aviation industry to grow we have to start making spare parts under lisence.getting assembly line for 40 aircraft production doesn't help anything.this is costly and impossible.

You have no proper understanding of aviation. I can see you are badly exposed by Ahmadinejad's propaganda too.who told you that making airframe is any easier than making engine for example? are you aware of the dificulties in making and designing airframe.are you familiar with techniques and materials used in the process? or this is easier because it seems less cool in comparison to engines?

Sorry but as long as they dont make anything by themselves you cant be sure about that claim.up to now we have seen nothing.and if your claim turns into fact it wouldn't mean we can make an aircraft on our own but actually it means that we can start cooperating with airplane manufacturers.thats what matured countries do.now even lets assume that we can make a plane based on Russian standards domestically. Which insurance company is going to guarantee its flight's safety? and who is going to buy a plane that is based on Russian standards whereas our whole aviation is based on western standards? do you know this plane requires different maintenance and training and it means double cost for a company? my friend, aviation is more complicated than this.

I suggest you to do a study about S.Korea and Japan's aviation industry and what proccess Mitsubishi took to make a plane like MRJ-90. I am a nobody to say what must we do I can say that we didnt choose the right path in the past (started by Rafsanjani).

A light weight turboprop regional airliner was/is the most logical option for our aviation industry to enter this field .... we knew our own limit and that why we chose to build something like Iran-140 .... and I don't why you compare the process of making a simple ( in term of aviation industry ) Iran-140 airliner to a advanced MRJ-90 !?

and about Standard , this is just a mafia thing , western Aviation industry rarely give standard to none western companies and it is because they don't want to share their own market with them ....

Iran has the plan to turn IKIA into a huge international hub.IKIA's current capacity is 6 million passengers.after building two new terminals and upgrading the current terminal it will be increased to 45 million passengers.and all these developments are all about the phase one and it will be done in 44 months from now.beside that, phase two development will be started and it will have another 45 million passengers as capacity.

In the A380's order it is menioned that if the development doesn't go as planned they will reduce the A380's order and convert them into more A-321s but otherwise having 12 A-380s for such a huge hub is completely justified.this is a right investment for a profiting business.tens of thousands of people will get a job.

@Serpentine please recorrect the title.it will be 3 A-330s by the end of Persian year.first one to be delivered in February.
