If there is peace with India, how will Pakistan military ever justify its bloated role ? How will it justify taking 45% of the national budget each year (billions of dollars), how will it justify having such a large force (highest per capita soldier to population ratio) in South Asia? How will it justify ordering any Government around in the name of 'national security'.

Everything that Pakistan military has ever worked for since Pakistan's formation will have gone to waste the day Pakistan has peace with India.

A fine example was Pakistan Army scared of peace overtures of Govt of Pakistan with India that it launched a war without even consulting its own Government - Kargil.

Islamists have targetted schools and universities in many countries including Egypt, syria, iraq, afghanistan, russia etc. They justify it and give the example of the practice followed during the slaughter of Banu Qurayza jewish tribe.
