BREAKING : India completely banned the entry of Chinese telecom equipment makers in its market.

India's Telecom department in its amended Telecom license agreement essentially bars Chinese telecom equipment makers. In its notification, asks operators to use equipments from ‘trusted sources’ (term used).

Trust Source means only those equipment manufacture APPROVED by GOI.

This automatically excludes Chinese telecom companies.

Chinese companies own most latest telecom patents anyway. India could go for domestic telecom gears or other imported brand, either way they have to pay sizable patent money to China, let alone the jacked-up prices of western telecom companies. Besides, India doesn’t need the latest telecom technologies, the market for high speed internet in India is still small and limited. Most people in India can’t afford the price tag of true high speed internet so they are likely stuck with 3G/4G for a long time in foreseeable future. The chance for India to catch up with China in telecom tech is slim to none, there are plenty of smart Indians doubtlessly. However they are all over this world except for India. I guess India is too sh*tty for them to stay and that’s a sad truth y’all better cope with it.

So much unnecessary trolling here makes it almost unreadable.

Let me share some interesting stuff, Reliance Jio has its own end-to-end 5G stack. It acquired Radisys and a few more startups for building its own network.
Also, Tata is building its own network stack, it acquired Tejas Networks and Saankhya Labs, interesting times.

Hopefully, in a few decades, we will be self-reliant in many fields.

Good. As it is the made Huawei by stealing IP of Cisco. Useless firms.
That's a stupid decision. That will only hurt India. The world is depending on Chinese telecom manufacturers even giants like Apple and here someone from India calling Chinese firms useless

They depend on Chinese part suppliers. China isn't exactly known for its intellectual or engineering prowess.
