we pakistanis are living under khudkash bomber age, friend your so called constitutionalism doesnt work in this age!
Au contraire! This is exactly when we need it. We need to take Jinnah out of the books and into our lives. The man is still a gift to us if we but choose to learn from him. I don't know about you but I've had enough of sitting and waiting for divine intervention. 65 years is enough. Its obvious how well this has turned out for us, no? Things aren't looking any better for the foreseeable future either. Frankly speaking, its way beyond just pathetic now. We have to change. Small things; education good, breaking traffic lights bad, stealing bad, working hard good, not being a jerk to everyone that I meet during the day good, not try to cut every available throat for my own meager gains good, compassion for the less powerful and the ability to say no to the more powerful, etc, etc. We need to change our character as a nation, nay we need to build a character and a nation. Take any successful nation of the world. Read their history. The French, the Japanese, the Chinese, the Malaysians, the Germans (and they did it more than once!). All went through far testing times with far less opportunities than we are today. They changed themselves, changed the way they thought and then left everyone else in their dust. We need to take this excuse of being the victims and throw it away, enough is enough.
And this isn't the first time we are doing this. It took us more than a hundred years to get back what belonged to us. I repeat, we got lucky once, the next Jinnah is not coming. Regardless, I for one am not willing to wait for another 50 years.
"Khuda ne aaj tak us qaum ki haalat naheen badlee. na ho jisko khyal aap apni haalat ke badalne ka"- Iqbal. Funny how we all read this, never object to it.
