To an extent but I would say the P-28As are capable than the Type 056s in armament, endurance and capability.

When comparing SAMs, cruise missiles(anti-ship), anti-sub rockets then AFAIK the Type 056 of the BD navy won't come with a hanger right? Being larger the P-28As will also have great range and endurance allowing them to remain on station for longer and patrol/clear/search greater sized areas.

BD Type056 will come with Hanger, it will be 10m longer than original size, anything else ?

The area where we lack is to produce dozens of ships per year of a kind in a go. Mass production. Which is why we are not able to export such valuable things to friendly countries. Think about it: we have a strong capability to develop indigenous warships and are much more self-reliant than Army or IAF in naval platforms.

The reason why we have had to place simultaneous orders to Yantar shipyard is because GRSE, CSL and MDL just don't have enough mass production capabilities, forcing us to go international to rapidly fill IN fleet of warships.

If somehow Modi government can solve this by encouraging business mentality, we will be a net exporter of warships in five years' time.

Add that with BrahMos to offer and increase its production and even Russians will jump on proposal to sell to commonly friendly countries.

The move to increase capacity in Indian shipyard is already on, by 2020 the capacity will be 100-120% greater from what I have heard. You can't give Modi credit for this, maybe he can expedite the process but the project has already been initiated some time back.

It's not something that will be able to be changed overnight it takes a LONG time.
