MIG-29Ks and eventually the Rafale-M
Mig-29K for time being and a new fighter which is under consideration( between F-18SH and Rafale).
@Star Wars .
Well that depends on you needs and stuffs your adversaries got. Mig-29Ks are very potent aircrafts and better than what our enemies got for now.That's weak. You guys would have been better off buying Rafale for the navy FIRST! Or ordering for the navy along with af.
Mig29ks are underwhelming. You would have one of the worst equipped AC in the world.
a lot of people.What will it carry? Tejas? Mig29s?
Samajhte naheen hei baat ko, Nikal padte hein Raat ko, Phir boltein hei ke andhera hei!

The IN's MiG-29Ks are more capable than any fighter the PAF currently has in its posession.PAF will have AESA equipped JF17s from 2018/19 which will detect the Mig29k first thanks to its larger size and probably inferior radar. They also have the block 52s stationed South; and plenty of early warning aircraft. A single squadron of either the Jf17s or F16s will keep the Mig29s away.
This is why I said - the Rafale should have gone to the IN first. Otherwise, this AC will remain far from the battlefield and amount to a waste of money.
IAF will have AESA radars on atleast 4 platforms but thats futuristic. For the time being Mig-29Ks are better than any platform you have. Also Ins Vikramaditya has a ECM so powerful that It did 'blind' russian AEW and Su-33 aircrafts at a 400+ km distance during trials. Besides there are 4-5 AEW helis on board Ins Viki can detect things at hundreds of kms away.PAF will have AESA equipped JF17s from 2018/19 which will detect the Mig29k first thanks to its larger size and probably inferior radar.
