Not sure about that. Most western companies are suspicious of foreign, especially non-western, experience. Nothing specific to India: they will just as suspicious of experience claimed in Pakistan, China or Philippines.

Very true if you are a non-gora, but goras change that to "How they made a huge impact" or "They managed 50+ non goras" etc and sell their experience into a more juicier story. With outsourcing only increasing, any experience into its mechanics, especially held by a gora is well liked.

^^^ That's not the entire reason.Willingness to relocate to another country shows your commitment to your organization.It is a nice add-on to your resume as it shows your zeal to perform for your team.Also, after the economic slowdown employees are afraid to refuse such postings due to fears that they might get canned for it.They want to hold on to whatever job they have even if it means moving to another country.

In any case, coming back to the video and interns, I still don't see how the best and brightest would leave the West. Not when a top MIT, Stanford or Harvard graduate can score 100K on Wall St. straight out of college.

I can see top Indians in the West coming back to India for family, cultural or patriotic reasons, but not top westerners.

About the report: it is highly exaggerated.. the only reason some Americans are moving to India is because they can't find a job in their native country. These "goras" are not used to people defecating on the streets, unregulated pollution and in general *****. They have to move to india because they have to, not because they want to!!!

I don't know what you're on about, but I have never made fun of India's poverty. In fact, I have been one of foremost critics of Pakistan's failure to cultivate soft power.

Coming back to the topic, the issue here is the brain drain from US to India. Anyone who goes back to the US doesn't count; we are talking about people who actually stay in India. Given the fact that the US still pays top dollar for genuine engineering talent, I would like to see some evidence that a significant number of top-notch western technical talent is moving permanently to India.

Management doesn't count; you can find paper pushers a dime-a-dozen anywhere. I am talking about top-notch technical talent packing their bags and moving to India.
