Brain drain: Saudi officials arrive to hire more Pakistan doctors

This is interesting. On the other side of the border India is trying to pressure Indian doctors to stay and serve their country, Pakistan is actually facilitating Pakistanis to go abroad and provide service to other countries. I suppose its okay if people aren't against it.

India is focusing on growing healthcare within India to keep pace with the economic growth. Pakistan currently is hard pressed for Forex... Hence the difference..

We are focusing as well as we need to build health care infrastructure in India ... big cities have good facilities but for rural area.. this are difficult.. by providing healthcare which is necessary, it will help rural infra in many ways...

For Pakistan right now their political leadership is not in condition like forcing them to sign bonds like Indian government..

You do however.. need a clearance from the GoP as a doctor before you go abroad.. and sign a statement that you will try to impart whatever you have leant outside back here.
However.. there is no criminal punishment for those that abscond from this agreement.. and therefore.. this is just a formality.

a place of peace lol
he forget to mention that they are biggest exporter of terrorism in history.
even their own arab speakin brother call them a culture of terrorism.

PGK,

You seem to be smart guy. How come you are turning yet another thread into Shia-Sunni fasad?

If you like, share your experience (or your family's experience) in Saudi.

you know I am not a big fan of Saudi Mullahs and their religiou charities who spread anarchy by funding wahabism.

Still we can have a decent discussion about pros and cons about Pakistani professionals working in Saudi.

Don't you think so?

Peace.

Good move.
Saudi Arabia is a place where we can live in peace and be muslims more easily than anywhere else.

what are you talking about "be muslims" more easily ? you can do that in pakistan and pretty much anywhere else in the world you don't need to go to saudi to do that .The ONLY advantage it has as far as "being muslim" is concerned is that mecca and medina is located within it's borders.

Brother, we tried to have nice discussion with them. but these people think they are better than everybody.
they think they represent Islam just because they Islamic holly sites are in their country.
trust me be a but more active on this forum and you will see what I mean.

One of my colleague told me that he had some time at his disposal so he planed to have some fun.

The way they were offering jobs was really amusing. They don't ask much. All you need is you CV and testimonials /documents etc.

So he went in there ......the man after going through his documents said, "this is your package." (in an arabic accent of course). It was a file with a paper saying according to the calculations of the persons taking the interview( which he hardly took) he is offered a packed of "this" amount of money.

Curiously he asked the one presenting the offer ,do you know, what that degree means and what is the meaning of this training that i've undergone. The interviewer told him that,it's not my business, i just see these words and i add up the amount to set up a package for the candidate....lol.

And these are people who are suppose to overtake Iran in science and technology.

Although I personally have no problem with Saudis hiring more Pakistani doctors I do think Pakistan needs to solve the brain drain issue. No matter how many smart & talented people a country may have, it's always difficult & time consuming to find a suitable replacement for that particular person, & even then the replacement may not be as good as the former.

It's not only doctors that are leaving though, but those who are good in other fields such as engineering are leaving for other countries as well. I can't really blame them either seeing as many people will happily leave to work at a place with better opportunities, pay, & benefits, etc.

On another note Saudi Arabia is trying to Saudize the medical sector, though it's going to take a lot of time for them to do that.
