Brahmos has and is undergoing continuous updates making it more versatile and lethal. It is not a older design, it is a proven platform. Your assumption is borderline stupidity. PAF will not be depending on the newer JF but the old and proven F16 to spearhead an attack or a counterattack.

A hypersonic version of brahmos is currently under development. As of today Pak armed forces have no answer or limited defence to a brahmos attack.
