BrahMos-A In Final Integration With Su-30

The final phase of integration of an air-launched version of the Indo-Russian BrahMos-A supersonic cruise missile on a Su-30MKI is in its final stages. BrahMos CEO Dr. A Sivathanu Pillai said at the Aero India seminar in Bangalore last week that a first test-firing would take place in 2014.

Integration and testing has been delayed hugely principally by the Sukhoi Design Bureau's reluctance to prioritise cooperation in helping with the modifications required to integrate the missile with the Su-30. The BrahMos-A carries a reduced booster and fins for stability. There's better news as far as the navy is concerned: The BrahMos will be tested for the first time from an underwater pontoon launcher this year.

Drdo is working on Brahmos 3 which is the lighter version of Brahmos 1 which can be fired from Mig 29K and MMRCA...

this version is for su30mki only as it's heavier.A lighter version is on development for all other platforms.

Tejas is a sad story for India,How you will use them in Modern wars,Can't carry their main weapon Brahmos-A which you call Indigenous,But you don't know your own product is totally incapable of delivering the Missile,and now its your compulsion to buy Sukhoi-30.

And,RAFALE is without AESA Radar yet.There is a big MISMATCH in combination of fighter jets after signing so much expensive deals ,but unfortunately not getting the desired result yet.............. ??? Only BrahMos .....??

Where as Pakistan has CM 400AKG 5.5 Mach..............that can be delivered from JF-17 Thunder......so whats the difference????

Brother, Brahmos isn't main weapon and if you think properly no specific weapon can be called so. Today's multi-role fighetrs are required to perform a multiple number of roles and that decides what weapon they will carry for a particular mission. Even the mighty Su 30 MKI has cannons which would be required for dog-fight, for an Suppression of Enemy's Air defence role, some kind of HARM missile would be required and so on.
Brahmos is no doubt a mighty weapon in India's arsenal but till date only aircraft that is deemed fit to carry it is Sukhoi. Even other proven fighters like Mirage 2000 and Mig 29 cannot carry it (atleast in this avatar) but that doesnot make them (to use your words) Dhuuusssssss..

Where as CM-400AKG (CARRIER KILLER) can achieve 5.5 Mach.

The 400 kg CM-400AKG is termed by CASIC as hypersonic since it can reach speed greater than Mach 4 at its terminal stage, and its guidance system includes GPS, onboard radar, and an image recognition system that can identify a specific target, it can also be pre-programed to destroy the ground targets with precision by uploading the digital imagery of the target or it can be re-targeted using its active radar seeker. Originally developed as a air-to-surface missile (ASM) against fixed and slow moving target,[10] an anti-shipping missile (AShM) is also developed for Pakistan.

The two difference CM-400AKG models can be easily distinguished by the difference between the arrangement of forward control surfaces of the two model: the AShM version has four short and smaller forward control surfaces,[12][13] while the ASM version has four much larger forward control surfaces.

if it is based on this missile it wont do Diddly sqaut against Fixed Target Look at the penetration They Wall is made of Bricks and cements All it did was went through it may be they didn;t have warhead init I hope they did not cuz if they did that is just not worth it, and penetration metal is Alot skinner then a standard target would be

CM-400AKG is weapon which is still under the veils. Any links/videos/pics of its tests launches etc? without them its just speculations right?

Its India's main Agency responsible for all research related to defence field. It has around 52 labs under it covering almost every field-from missiles to food to agriculture to avalanches to MBTs. Its NOT like POF

If lighter version of Brahmos is going to come out in few years why waist money on the integration if heavy just for 2/3 years ???

Hope Su series can carry 5 lighter Brahmos and Mig and Rafale 2 each.

honestly, i don't think there ever will be "lighter version of brahmos". If there will be a lighter version, it'll have to be ea new crusie missile.
