Boy, nine, is decapitated ‘by two relatives as part of a human sacrifice to a Hindu goddess’ in India

The two family members were arrested shortly after the gruesome incident, which took place in the village of Sundhimunda outside the town of Titlagarh in Balangir District located in eastern India's Odisha State.
According to local media, police have arrested the victim's brother and uncle in relation with the killing.
Reports said that one of the suspects confessed to the decapitation during questioning, but it is unclear which family member.

A police statement said that the family member's had 'sacrificed' the young victim to please the Hindu goddess Durga, also known as Shakti or Devi, so that their wishes would be delivered.
Officials confirmed that they have opened a case of human sacrifice.
The uncle has been named as Kunja Rana while the brother has been identified as Shobhaban Rana.
The young victim, named as Ghanashyam Rana, first disappeared on 13th October.
His worried parents lodged a missing person's case the next day.
Meanwhile, investigating cops found the nine-year-old boy's body and separated head in a shallow grave next to a nearby riverbank just four days later.
Police have found a knife which they believe was the murder weapon and also seized a motorbike belonging to one of the suspects.
The investigation continues.
