Boy in ‘protective custody’ for attempting to fly ‘flying machine’

Even if it was presented as a school project, safety should be first to be looked.

How many classrooms or schools in Pakistan have a fire extinguisher?

Contraceptive materials are easier to find in colleges and unis than fire extinguishers, evacuation map or assembly point.

Why don't you try looking at it from a different perspective, the kid has a muslim name, and he violated the rules of ryasat e madina, just shoot him for being a terrorist or in training terrorist or someone who is ryasat se takraaying.

The point is why was he arrested rather dispersing everyone was a better way. Now after this incident i think he would never invent any thing.

SAHIWAL: Rang Shah police on Sunday took a youth into “protective custody” who was attempting to operate, what he called, a flying device he had created.

Police caught Fayaz, a matriculation student, who was about to ‘fly’ his device in the fields of village 50/EB, Muhammad Nagar of Arifwala. Fayaz claimed to have sold his four-kanal piece of land he had inherited and invested the money into developing a flying machine.

On Sunday, hundreds of villagers gathered as he was about to test the machine. However, someone informed Rang Shah police who cordoned off the fields and stopped Fayaz.

Witnesses said police carried the machine in a tractor trolley and took it to the police station along with Fayaz. No first information report was registered against him and the youth was in custody till the filing of this report.

Rang Shah Station House Officer Nisar Bhatti told Dawn that Fayaz had only been taken into protective custody and the unreliable machine impounded to ensure it did not cause any harm to villagers who had gathered to witness the experiment.

He said they had called in experts to check what the device was and how it would function.

Imaging if on December 17, 1903, the Kitty Hawk Police Department had arrested Wright brothers and confiscated their Wright Flyer and its subsequent affect on the aviation industry in the USA and worldwide.

.
Thank God Wright brothers weren't in Pakistan to test their invention

. .
he is not arrested to make a plane but flying it without NOC from CAA without registration dn call sign . it can cause serious issue for PAF and radar operators if suddenly they see a UFO pop up on their screens

.
Seems to have talent, seems too harsh to have him in custody though. Maybe have a little talk if you're worried about safety etc.

.
If its Ghazwa e hind, then for sure he is not in custody, but taken up to lead the PAC, Kamra :crazy_pilot::crazy_pilot::crazy_pilot:
We placed this guy in custody to save him from HAL, they wanted to kidnap this guy to make Tejas work.

No room for invention?
This is not an invention, it is engineering. People cannot be allowed to test flying machines in uncontrolled envoirments, what if he crashes on house killing someone's children?, the media wouldve gone bonkers on the police.

.
Listened to news last night, they said,
he was a man (might be engineer) from an old backward village area, he sold his land to invent the machine.

When he took his invention to road for showcase, a jealous called Police.

Video showed it was a glider type simple.

Still police threw it to a trawly , I'm witness, it was badly damaged as result.

He was arrested with an FIR against him, The court found him convict and asked him to pay 3000Rs for temporary bail.

I swear, i always appreciated Judiciary of Pakistan. But, this won't run our country any more.

Wright brothers did this in USA some 200 years back.
If a Wright brother tries to emerge in Pakistan 200 years after, he is treated such
