Boxer Amir meets Gen Sharif
Amir expresses solidarity with families of Peshawar attack.
RAWALPINDI - Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Monday met Pakistan born British boxer Amir Khan at General’s Headquarters (GHQ).
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Amir expressed solidarity with families of Peshawar attack during the meeting with General Raheel Sharif. Earlier, Pakistani origin boxer laid a wreath on the shrine of the saint and told journalists that he also prayed for the martyrs of Peshawar carnage. He said that he was saddened by the tragedy and would try to visit Peshawar as well.
Amir said that there was no lack of talent in Pakistan, adding that he wanted to dispel the notion that Pakistan was an unsafe country. Amir also met Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif in CM’s House in Lahore on Sunday. The boxer also donated his £30K in order to rehabilitate the school and help the Peshawar carnage victims.
