That's great news about Pakistan probably being the first buyer, in sha Allah we will be the first indeed.
All the factors combining is a good sustainable sign of demand and supply working in favour of Bosnia. Unfortunately, one'a gain is another's loss but that's inevitable in this industry.
Great to hear such good news coming from Bosnia. My heart goes out to our Bosnian brothers. May you have peace and prosperity.
Thanks again for the info and keeping us updated here.
Thank you.
I relly think there's something to this rumores, cause indications are all over the place. Frequent visitations from your ambasy to the factories, visit of our minister of heavy industry to Pakistan few month ago, official comments about cooperation in this field. So, there's a clear diplomatic movement which indicates that something is up. Unoficially its Pakistani encourgmanet thet bought this project from paper to reality. Many speculate that howitzer project is just a begining of such cooperation. Situation in West Balkans and Bosnia is really tense.. it wasnt been like this for years. Russian - NATO tensions are adding to already volatile enviroment... and our neigbours are rearming themself. One thing going for us is that we can put our self into situation in which our defense industry can be backbone of our defense and economy. Few days ago Bakir Izetbegovic, bosniak member of presidancy, said that they are plans in the works for manifacturing of an armor vehicle with frends (Turkey is prime suspect in this one).
Anyway, cause I dont have anything better to do, here are few interesting tidbits about BNT company, company behind H155. Company was founded in 1949, and produced everything from mortarts, howitzers to naval guns and MLRS lunchers for Yugoslav Army and export. Its crown jewel before the war was 282mm MLRS luncher 'Orkan' (huriccane ) exported to Iraq.
Orkan
3 Orkan systems survived the war in the posesion of Bosnian army. Of which one was operational ( it wasnt used in the war cause Pretis factory was overrun early in the war and we didnt have rockets for it, few times it was used for the pshylogical efffect, basicly army would move it and let it been seen by the enemy).
After the peace deal, SFOR, multinational peackeeping mission, took 2 system to be destroyed along with documentation, and the third one which wasnt been assambled yet they took the luncher and left the truck.
Fwe years later that truck ended up in Turkey unoficially along with some documentation.
