As I said, Pakistan is a free society. Girls are free to take Bollywood dance classes, to have fun at parties/weddings, but they still know there is a line between having fun & indecency. Fair play to them. Women are free to watch Star Plus. Men can watch Bollywood movies for the simulated sex scenes or the semi nudity. But alas, you still have to find faults in all this, even though you can see how oppressed Pakistanis are in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

you do know that Pakistan is ranked as the third most dangerours country for women and India the 4th ?In this respect both our countries have nothing to be proud of so discuss bollywood and cut this crap out .

There are 170 million people here, Bol a Lollywood movie - that is about serious social conflicts is the biggest grossing movie here in Pakistan.

I never denied that Bollywood makes occasional good movies. In fact, Bollywood used to make quite decent movies in previous decades,but the vast appeal of any movie industry -- be it Hollywood or Bollywood -- is not for art. It's just for entertainment and Bollywood provides the mix of emotionalism + nudity.

Again, if that's what people want, then that's what they shall get. Hollywood is honest about it, but Bollywood fans want to maintain some aura of 'art' about their commodity.

There are many ways of providing mass entertainment and Bollywood's formula is emotionalism plus half-nudity.

Hollywood has a much bigger bag of tricks up its sleeve, including special effects and a vastly greater talent pool.

History suggests that most successful bollywood films have been action films and family dramas like sholay , dabbang , huma apke hain kaun , deewar , zanjeer , gadar etc.

That's like saying that Hollywood is famous because of Citizen Kane and Schindler's List.

But everybody knows to differentiate between the occasional art movie and the run-of-the-mill production.

Those films you mention, If I am not wrong, are old, some of them decades ago, the modern indian film is mostly soft ****.

I can name many very successful modern movies with hardly any nudity which were successful . Ghajini ,ishqiya , kaminey , rang de basanti , lagaan and many more. Btw from that list gadar and dabbang are new movies.

Are you also a Pakistani who considers mini-skirts and some bikini as soft **** ?
Good god how deprived are you guys ?

And btw none of the successful movies i listed had any of those.

Don't even get me started on honor killings & dowry related deaths in India, you know it's a much bigger problem in India. In Pakistan, active measures have been taken to eradicate these problems.

I do watch Bollywood and Hollywood both. I am ready to watch more movies across the world, If quality is good [English or Hindi]

Most of the Middle-East, South-Asian, Asean countries also watch Indian movies.

64 years and Pakistan failed to make a film industry which hits 50 countries or even comes in Top 20 and we are 2nd Best in world with popularity, Money and capability.

Again generalization - a certain percentage of Pakistanis like them, then there are a certain percentage that dislike them, and the people that like them are as patriotic as the ones that don't, like I said - I like Hollywood movies, but am opposed to US foreign policy, just like the Pakistanis who watch BW would be the first to give the danda to india, in a conflict.

the nawabs used to watch the tawaif dancing. the nawabs were the MASTER , the dancing tawaifs were the ENTERTAINMENT.

That last part is your opinion and not fact .To make it a fact you have to prove it which you can't .

what we know as a fact is that most Pakistanis watch bollywood and it is the 2nd most successful movie industry worldwide which has popularity among people of all races . That is the only fact we know .
